Hey...
Question: I have my mothers's 20 year Sac plat bag. I just had the handles replaced (not in store, it was sent out by LV-- both handles $165) my question is: I have to clean up the rest of the bag as the handles are not worn at all. Any suggestions? Or wait until the handles catch up? The bag is in great condition- but next to bag, which has darkened; the bag almost looks fake!!

Well if your trying to sell the bag, you can explain that you had the handles replaced. A person who has some knowledge with LV and it's vachetta leather, should understand that. I personally don't know any products you can apply to the leather in order for it to darken faster, and if it really bothers you, I would let it patina on it's own.... That's just my opinion...

First of all, I hope you are planning on keeping it! What a piece! I would definitely say wait for the handles to catch up. It won't take terribly long!

Was the price $165 per handle... or all together? I ask because my cabas alto needs new leather, and the price I was quoted was around $900... and the bag new was $1200.

yep...

for the full leather piece on the bottom of the bag, the two handles and the 4 pieces of leather the handles connect to.

I was standing in front of my SA when she was looking up the prices in the LV book.
