Speedy is over...

I am so tired of seeing everyone and their mother with the Speedy bags! I have to say that in Italy everyone has one including 15 yearolds. The illegal immigrant vendors are selling fakes like hotcakes, thus everyone is toting around the same bag. Whether fake or not, it has definitely rendered the Speedy a mass trend and thus no longer an original item to flaunt or waste your money on if you don't have one! I've retired mine for now.
I love the Manhattan GM and I have yet to see anyone with this bag. I bought it because I liked it, because it was more my stlye and because I wanted something that wasn't on the hands of everyone...and I am happy with my investment!

I do see the Manhattan GM a lot more than the PM. (I think a lot of women must agree with you.) Although about 95% of the ones I see @ my local mall are fakes. Sad but true.

I personally would choose the MJ Venetia over the Manhattan GM...same style but much more classic with rich leather. Also, my mall is not flooded with MJ fakes-yet.

you don't have to convince anyone of your purchase. i prefer the speedy because it's timeless. i don't care who else has it - it's not a matter of showing off to other people. it's a matter of what that person enjoys. so nothing is "over"

I have and love them both! Others do react more when I carry my Manhatten GM, but the Speedy is a classic. I wouldn't trade my Speedy for the world!

Hmm.... I love my Speedys... and I intend to buy more. To me... it's the most stylish bag LV has. Amazing bag at a great price. I love it... addicted for life.

i love the speedy but i must admit i hardly use it because i'm not too comfortable with hand held bag :)
i prefer to sue my neverfull most of times

o and funny thing - i was at the airport last night and i saw a bunch of the Manhattan GM's... it was kinda funny and i was like "OH i gotta post this". i hate to say it but when i see it - it looks fake. i don't know, that was my impression when i started seeing it around on people.

I still 100% love the speedy, even though everyone has one! It's such a classic bag, and I love the history of it. Also, I have a damier 30, so I guess it's not totally as widespread as the mono is...

It's an LV classic; that's why everyone has one. That was the reason I bought mine. It was my first LV purchase and it seemed fitting.
