Default Which bag should I get?

Spent the entire day going into all 3 Vuitton stores around SF Union Square and what an enlightenment. I had been looking for a shoulderbag in the damier pattern and all the ones I thought would work for me didn't for one reason or another and I fell in love with other bags I 'd thought I'd never consider.

Basically I'm looking for a simple shoulderbag or tote that's easy to open and stays on the shoulder with a comfortable strap droplength. I was recommended the chelsea and the parioli but neither worked. The ones I like such as the boulogne is not available in damier nor the illovo in the large size. My alternative is take a handbag and buy a strap which I'm starting to consider, such as the speedy 30. If not the damier, a pomme d'amour vernis, maybe?

Any suggestions?

thats why i love seeing the bags in real life first. some bags you never thought you would purchase in a million years then you see them up close and hold them and its a match made in purse-heaven!

the boulogne is a good choice for what you are looking for - but its not available in damier. i would go with the speedy and buy a strap. at least that way if your shoulder startts hurting or something then you can just go strap-less and carry as a handbag.

what about these bags. did you see these ones in the store...

Damier Canvas Hampstead MM - 1,140

Damier Canvas Knightsbridge - $1,450

Damier Canvas Highbury - $1,560

I'm about to hit the LV store once again to check out the Hampstead MM and Speedy 30. One thing I've noticed is that if you don't keep your bags stuffed when not in use - they change their shape.

Since I can't afford alot of LV bags, I would like to know which styles tend to hold their shape better.

Does the Speedy tend to get squashed easily? Do you keep it stuffed? How about the Hampstead, and the Belem?

I'm kind of curious about the Belem, does anyone here have one, and is it easy to use with zipper opening all the way down the sides?

Thanks for all your suggestions. After looking at all of the above, it came down to the Hampstead or the Triana which the salesperson at the store recommended. I eventually went with the Triana even though I loved them both. Basically it came down to a question of what happens with long-term use. I really like the fancy nameplate on the Hampstead but I just knew that first scruff/scratch would be like the same thing on a new car. I'm pretty rough on my bags and the Hampstead tends to sink if not stuffed and there's a tendency to get pointed creases towards the bottom that can wear the bag quickly??) I also liked the idea of going back to the long strap to wear at the hip. The under the arm bags always gets squashed and it's basically destoyed the shape of the monogram cite mm I got on ebay.

(BTW, LV has altered the interior of the Triana which I've explained in a new thread - pls check it out.)
