Default Newbie looking for a bag for my wife

I've been looking for a Cabas Mezzo bag for my wife for a while now. She saw one at a local shop (it wasn't in great shape) and really liked it. Since I'm a novice at this, I was hoping to get some opinions as to the authenticity of a particular bag. I've done some research as to the site and seller and they seem OK but I'd still appreciate your thoughts. I can't include a link as I haven't posted before but the bag is on Malleries and has a price of $760 ( a little more than I had hoped but the condition looks great).

    Thanks for your help.

I've heard nice things about Malleries, I don't think you would have to worry about authenticity with them. Plus, they have a return policy, right?

It looks like you already purchased the bag?? The bag looks pretty good to me but I'm no pro. I would have it authenticated by Carol Diva just for piece of mind. I just had a preowned Metis hobo authenticated by her and she got back to me very quickly.

Unfortunately someone beat me to it. Guess that's a risk when calling attention to a bag that was as nice as that one. I'll continue the search and act faster next time. Thank you for the responses!

Wow - still looking. This has turned out to be more difficult than I thought but I'm persistent! Being limited one one specific bag makes it tougher I suppose. One thing I've noticed about these bags is that most of them that I see for sale appear to have been swimming. Is the leather on the bottom more susceptible to staining from water than most? I also wonder if the reason many of these are for sale is due to staining, especially on the bottom.

As I said above, I have learned that I need to act quickly when I see a relatively unscathed one.

The bottom of this style is vachetta. It is natural, untreated leather that will patina over time. Yes, it does show stains from watermarks and oils quite easily.

Success at last! Found a really nice bag from one of the frequent sellers on eBay. Received it yesterday (shipped from Japan last Thursday - much faster than expected) and I was very happy with the condition. Whoever owned it did not use it very much. The seller even shipped it in a dust bag - which was not part of the auction.
Thank you very much for your input and support. Now just waiting the right time to give it to my wife!
