Re: 280226502807
Thank you. I just thought it might be fake becuase the other bag she has listed is on top of one of those fake dust bags. Thanks for your comments.

Is this a real date code?
I decided recently that I wanted to get a monogram speedy 40 and a damier speedy 35 so I am saving for those. In the meantime my friend has a 30 she wants to unload so I figured since she would cut me a really great deal it might be a nice way to try out the brnad before I spent a fortune on something I might not love. She always buys authentic bags, but this is one of a couple bags she owns (gifts from boyfriend) that she did not buy herself and her theory is if she didnt walk into the store and buy it herself, she wont promise its authenticity. She also is not super familiar with LV and has no other damier items to compare with it. I wont see her for a few weeks so I cant take any pics right now, but she gave me the date code. Is this a real code, or is this a fake?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Is this a real date code?
the first and third number represent the month, and the second and fourth number represent the year. It means 11/2000 from France... But the date code- with a prefix for a country of origin must matches the embossing on the bag that says where it's made. (Made in USA, France, Spain etc.)

^^^^^
I'm not authenticating the BAG, but the code should be real if it the bag is made in FRANCE.

Re: Is this a real date code?
How old does the bag look??! If it was made in 2000, (unless, she hardly used it), it should be well loved...

Re: Is this a real date code?
It does say Made In France (or Paris? Im not sure which but I think France) and she has carried it exactly 3 times - hence the reason she is giving it up! It has been in the dustbag in a rubbermaid tub all the other times, its barely started to turn. But did they even make the Damier Azur in 2000? I think I forgot to mention its Azur!

Re: Is this a real date code?
Oh, no they didn't make the Azur in 2000.
You might want to "borrow" the bag and post pics on here with a detailed one of the date code. I don't want to call it a fake without seeing the photos you may have accidently got the numbers in the date code mixed up.

Re: Is this a real date code?
well, she lives like 3 hours from me, but shes open to the idea that anything she got from her old boyfriend could be a fake. he was cheap and stupid, not the best combination! im sure thats the code, i had her verify it over the phone. oh well, looks like its back to saving!

Re: Is this a real date code?
Could you try something like bag borrow or steal and see if you LIKE the handbag? If you like it, then save up for it or see how much they want you to pay to "steal" it?

Re: Is this a real date code?
I was going to check it out because I think 30 would be too small for me, and since its not authentic (she was happy to hear we could check out several of his "big gifts" here for authenticity!) shes just going to get rid of it. I have actually seen the 35 which looks about right for me, so I am going back to my original plan - Damier 35, Monogram 40. Maybe I will wait for the DA Neverfull in 2009 if I get tired of the brown. Thanks for the help ladies!
