Don't fret, just explain the authenticity issues. A little more on that...notice how the bag seems to be centered on the vertical line of cross flowers. LV bags will never be cut that way, the center should fall on the LV symbol or the clover monogram.

Re: LV lovers, please give your opinion
Yeah. The first one is FAKE. The 2nd one's pictures are really small. I can't tell if it has suede lining - if it does - I'm pretty sure it's fake.
Mandi - don't worry about feedback. If someone sees that someone sold you a fake, they will understand. It's the seller's fault, not yours!

Re: LV lovers, please give your opinion
Thanks to everyone for all the help
I just sent a letter to the seller and will wait to see how that goes...
However, I work way too hard for my money to give it away on a fake purse! Rather the seller be mad, then my bank account! I was worried about buying off of ebay and now I see it was for good reason. I'm just sad now, that was about the only way I could ever afford to get a LV I'm not even going to try for the other bag, must be a reason the seller took such small/distant/blurry pictures
This site rocks!!
Ya'll just saved me a lot of heart ache -Lesson learned (finally - had a scare w/ my coach items earlier) BIG THANKS

Re: LV lovers, please give your opinion
I'm glad this forum could be of help to you.
Ask the seller to do a mutual agreement to not complete the transaction. This will void any eBay strikes for both of you. Hopefully, this seller won't offer the bag to the next highest bidder in a second chance offer.
Do be careful when making eBay purchases. I personally have bought only one bag via ebay and I requested multiple photos of every detail. It is especially hard when purchasing vintage items (like LV) since there is little reference resources available.
I know it's aggravating/heartbreaking trying to find designer merchandise for cheap (especially LV). I come from a humble upbringing but always had a penchant for luxury goods. I purchased my first bag (a Dior Saddle Pouchette) during my first year in college. I literally set aside $15 a week for two months (not much but pretty difficult for a freshman). Then, after another two months of saving, I purchased my first LV (the Monogram Canvas Pochette). Now, this was 9 years ago when both were about $165. If I was doing this today, it would be a much longer process.
I would recommend you just garnish your wages/allowance/whatever until you can purchase your first LV bag at the Louis Vuitton boutique. Nothing beats that satisfaction of acquiring your goods from the house itself.
Oh, and it would be best to start off bigger...say, a Speedy? Due to ever increasing prices, you get more value in the larger purchase. (Monogram Canvas Speedy 35 @ $675 vs. Monogram Canvas Pochette @ $300)
*Although, if you were to purchase online from the LV official retailer eLUXURY, you can avoid tax charges, Plus, they do present everything beautifully.

Re: LV lovers, please give your opinion
Mandi,
Chances are, she didn't KNOW it was a fake! These boards are better than a college education in design school. Most buyers are very cool and their hearts are in the right place. I've had 600 transactions and ONE whackjob. That says good things about the human race.
It'll work out!
love,

You don't have to give up on ebay...yet. You can always come here to have someone give their opinion on authenticity for you before you buy something

Re: Louis Vuitton Handbag: Please help authenticate purse!
OKAY, I'm addicted.... Can't stop shopping for my perfect bargain LV!!! Just to give an update, on my Ebay situation, the seller filed for a mutual withdrawl and everything seems as if it will be okay. ALSO.... just to confirm that there are still nice people out there, some concerned ebay member sent me the following msg., just thought I'd share.
FROM EBAY MEMBER:
Hi, I wanted to let you know the LV bag, the Noe drawstring bag, that you won is fake. LV has never used exterior patches on the Noe bags, not now or in the past. this bag is a vintage 1980's fake. I saw it was over 150$ and thought you may want to know itis a fake bag.
This really makes me feel good about human kind!!!
Back to the pictures I was unable to post (decently) yesterday of the 'other LV', I have attached the ebay link, which ends in 35 minutes. If anyone can give me a yeah or neh, I would like to try again, it is still within my price range; however, has a reserve?? PLEASE let me know any thoughts you may have.
AUTHENTIC LOUIS VUITTON PETIT BUCKET BAG SUPER DEAL - eBay (item 260205698880 end time Jan-28-08 18:27:19 PST)
Thanks Mandi

The petit bucket bag is a nice choice. This one has developed a nice patina. From the photos, I'm 75% convinced this is authentic. I'd request an image of the inner label, as well as the serial number.
Please post the link for the auction. You should check the seller's feedback and previous listings.

Re: Louis Vuitton Handbag: Please help authenticate purse!
Hi, just got back from shopping (in a real store where everything is AUTHENTIC)!
Yeah, I'm a little aggravated!!!!!!!!!!! But, I found a cute D&B wallet on sale! Anyhow, I lost the auction in the last 5 seconds for $5 dollars! The purse went for $305, I'm thinking that was a great deal lost On second thought, with my luck, it was probably fake!!! Thanks for the replies, I feel so much more confident bidding when you gals give the thumbs up! Hey, if you know of any trusted LV sellers on ebay, can you let me know??
-Mandi --I think I'll stick w/ this smiley for a while!!
