Those are people that abused there bags. Mine does not look like that.... NOT EVEN CLOSE. I always alternate my LV's... to make sure my bags don't turn like that.

as long as you take care of it i think it should be fine dont take it out in the rain and i swich bags often plus you can get the handles replaced that dark patina would take a while to happen

But it will take years for it to turn that dark of a color. Like probably 5 or 6, depending on how frequently you use your bag.
