    Default A little (big) picker-upper

Wanted to share this with my favorite Bagista's, let me also make a long story short. A couple of weeks ago, (almost a month from today), I was rear-ended on the expressway in route to school. My brand new car (which I had just got in March) got wrecked ($11K in damages ) and my sister and I were both injured. We're physically getting better, and the only bright side about this incident is that (1.) We're alive and (2.) my own insurance policy picked up the repairs for my vehicle as the eighteen year old kid who was at fault was an uninsured driver Other damaged goods included a pair of Burberry sunglasses (the hard case literally broke into two parts) and my lovely Chanel Classic Maxi. I sent my Chanel off to repair and I got an estimated repair time of 10 Weeks!! So here is my little picker-upper for the time being and some.

I've had Miss Beverly GM for about a week now, I just finally found some time to take pics.

OMG, glad you're ok!!! That's horrible that your new car and Chanel got ruined!

What exactly happened to your bag?

I heard about your car accident and I am so sorry about that. I know how awful it is, especially when it wasn't your fault. Gosh, that brings back bad memories from my accident a couple years ago. I'm glad you and your sister are okay, hopefully you guys weren't injured badly. OMG, but your poor Chanel?! That's awful! I love your new addition though!

A couple of links opened, the interwoven leather came out and some leather stitching was undone. It was horrible. My bag was in the back seat and at the time of impact, it flew forward, hit the windshield and that's all it took to get damaged.

You were involved in an accident too? Yes it's not cool at all when you're not at fault. I also can't believe that kid would be driving around without insurance! Well his car got totaled, I mean an absolute complete loss. His radiator, motor, and all that other important stuff under the hood got pushed in. So even though my car had fully covered insurance and is getting repaired, he lost his entire vehicle.

BTW, thanks on the lovely comments girls! and I'm still trying to figure out why the pics. were resized so small...

Yeah, it was a couple of years ago. It was a few days before my birthday. Somehow this kid turned into me. It was a busy (4 lane) street and he was turning across traffic to go into a driveway, it wasn't even an intersection. I never even saw him coming until he was slamming into the side of my car. He claimed to the police that he didn't see me coming because of the glare on his windshield, but I know he was just busy talking on his cell phone. Anyway, he had insurance but we ended up having to get a lawyer because his insurance was refusing to pay even though it was 100% his fault. Ugh!

I'm glad at least your insurance paid for it!

OMG Viva that is terrible. I'm so glad you're ok! It's great that your insurance picked up the repairs, but can you sue the kid that hit you? It's illegal to drive without insurance, so you would think you have some legal discourse in this situation.

I'm loving your new bag! Is it heavy?

I am so sorry about the accident, THANKFULLY you and your sis are okay. That really stinks that the other driver didn't have insurance!! The same thing happened to my brother, although it was a drunk driver that was uninsured.

On a happy note - Love your new bag!!!!

I've been directed towards a small legal claims court, but the kid supposably didn't have a phone number or cell phone. Wouldn't know what to sue him for. The only information I know of him is on the police report.

The Beverly can get heavy when full, but it fits perfectly over the shoulder making it more gorgeous than painful.

tBFers- thank you for all of the lovely comments! + many hugs.

Sarah, how unfortunate of your brother to go through that, hope he's fine now. I was hit by a speeding, distracted driver I can't imagine the mess a drunk driver would do. Seriously, some people don't deserve to operate machinery.
