In November my husband bought me a Damier Papillon 26 and I am just not "bonding" with it as much as I have with my others. I am thinking about possibly selling it on ebay. What do you think is a reasonable price for it? It was only used a handful of times but it doesn't look used at all. I have everything (box, receipt, dustbag, and even the card of the manager that sold me the bag). I am thinking $400 or maybe a little more. It retails for $615.
Also, my ebay account is brand new. Would you be leary of buying a LV from someone without feedback? I could always sell it using my DHs account.
Thanks!!!

Hey Deeni,
If it was me and the bag is only 2 months old, I would set the reserve for $400 and the Buy it Now for $500.
About you being a new member. . hum, you can tell them that you are a member of The Bag Forum and eBelle5 will vouch for you. . . we hate FAKES! Hahaha Dont know if that would do any good. Lol :D
Or do you know anyone with an eBay account who will let you use borrow it. . or sell your bag on there.
Lightly used ones sell for around $350 to $450 on ebay right now. I would set your reserve AT LEAST at $300. It depends on how badly you want to sell the bag. If you really want to get rid of it, then don't place your reserve too high, otherwise it won't sell. If you can hold out for a few auctions (or more) then you can set it higher... just remember you'll be charged all those ebay fees.
As for you having a newer account... yes, people will be wary of you. Make sure to take EXCELLENT pictures (use the Macro setting on your digital camera). You need to take close up pictures that show the date code and all angles of the bag. Make sure to watermark your pictures too. Also, do you have a Paypal account? People will be more willing to buy if they have the added security that Paypal offers. Hope that helps some.
Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I will use my DH's account. He has great feedback. There are not too many damier papillons on ebay so I wasn't really sure how good it would do. I think I will wait to list it for a few weeks so everyone gets over their Christmas debt!!
boysRsmelly, I have paypal set up on my account. I am going to have to try to figure out how to watermark though!
deeni, do you have photoshop?
If you do here are watermarking instructions . .
1) Write text over the image
2) Right clicked the layer and select 'blending option'
3) Then changed the opactity on the 'Bevel and Emboss'
Thats what I did. There are alot of 'watermarking' programs out there that you can buy to.
Or you can just put a piece of paper in your listing with your user id written on it
(ps saks has a 2 month / 60 return policy also)
Jennifer is right...Saks does have a 60day policy...and you say you have the reciept, right??? Nothing beats getting what your hubby paid for...or at least store credit would be way much better than losing a couple hundred bucks more... I would Try it out if I were you...
I am a few days over the 60 day mark but I wouldn't mind getting store credit. That way I can save up for another one!! There are NO marks on it or anything. And the receipt says it just needs to be in saleable condition. I am gonna try it! Thanks :)

OMG... please post if they take it back!!! I know they are very strict on their return policy!! Please let us know what happens!! Good Luck!
Ok, Ladies. They totally took it back!! They wouldn't allow me to get store credit or money back but they did let me pick out something else and exchange it!! So I got the Batignolles Horizontal instead. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. So much better than the Papillon.
When she rung me up, she told me that the actual return/exchange policy is 14 days. So I guess they were feeling nice today. I have nothing but GREAT things to say about the LV in Saks at the Florida Mall. They are the nicest I have ever dealt with .
BTW, thanks sooo much for suggesting I take it back. You guys are great!

Holy crap that's awesome!! So I guess that makes sense - the designer boutiques inside Saks have a different policy.
