I don't see anything that would cause concern.

Default Louis Vuitton White Multicolored Monogram Canvas Eye Miss You Handbag

I have received a Louis Vuitton White Multicolored Monogram Canvas Eye Miss You Handbag through an inheritance. Only problem is, the bag is exactly the same as the "Eye" bag in every aspect - except there are no eyes on the design. I brought it to a shop the repairs and cleans expensive bags and he told me everything about it looks real. I said the inside flap seems to have started cracking and he told me that happens to real bags. He found the serial number in the back of a little flap and the serial number is SR061-13. I have no idea if this is real. It was not taken care of as it was underneath a pile in a closet. But, on the other hand, this was my aunt and she was very well off.

Two things: That isn't a valid date code and the date code would be located inside one of the interior pockets. Are you able to post pics?

EDIT: Whoops, I just noticed you said the Eye Miss You. In that case, I believe the date code is simply embossed into the lining near the seam. At any rate, there would be no "tab" or "flap" that the date code is embossed on.

Default Vintage authentication for large pochette

    Hi there -
Does anyone have guidelines on authenticating vintage LV bags? We're talking pre-date codes in bag.
Just purchased it from an estate sale and I can't find it anywhere online. My gut is telling me its not real...

The stiching is pretty spot on, except for a few tears in a few places but if this bag is real, it's gotta be really old. The estate sale lady said its a vintage pochette, but its about 2x the size as a normal pochette. The zipper pull has the LV stamped but its tarnished to a light silver, which also doesn't seem right to me. has anyone seen a bag like this??

    Thanks!
    Angela

Hey everybody! I would like some help authenticating a Luis Vuitton "Eye" handbag that I purchased from a thrift store. I am also unsure as to which style it is, whether it is "Eye Love you" or "Eye Need You", etc. Any tips on how to tell the difference? It seems to be in pretty good condition, and definitely gives off a smell of real leather. The stitching seems perfect and the "LV" logo is on the zipper and little studs all over purse. The only thing is that the lock is missing, keys are there just no lock. There is a date code on a tag on the inside, M92010. Is this a legit date code or not?

Please let me know your opinion! Thanks so much :)

P.S. I am new to the forum and not allowed to post any pics yet.

It's hard to tell without a pic. Could it be a French Company piece? I'm not terribly familiar with those, but Fashionphile has an ebay guide.

Thanks for responding! It's not a French Luggage company because it has LV on the zipper pull. Unfortunately I can't post pictures because I'm new. Not even a link Any one know a way I can do this?

    Thanks!

There's a pretty big difference between those two styles. Only the Eye Love You had a lock and key though. However, the Eye Miss You had a lock. As for the date code, no that wouldn't be a valid date code. There shouldn't a be tag inside with a date code either. The date code should be embossed into the lining.

My bag has an inside zipper pocket, and I've read thats one way to spot a fake. Does anyone know if this applies only to newer bags and not pre80s?

    Thanks!
