Default Louis Vuitton Owner.... SOMETHING MISSING IN MY LIFE...

Louis Vuitton.... SOMETHING MISSING IN MY LIFE...

As a Louis Vuitton owner with a humble collection (read large collection) I have a certain image to uphold in the community.

Unfortunately, as has been mentioned here, I only drive a Honda Accord.

Whilst the truth is that the Japanese beat the Europeans at cars many years ago.... there are the eternal "badge snobs" who will insist nothing but a European will do. Personally I love our Honda Accord. Honda has always been expensive in Australia. When I bought a brand new BMW 318i E30 in 1991 (the last of the E30 series), a Honda Accord was almost the same price.

Today in Australia the price of the Honda Accord is something of a bargain.

In America the Honda Accord is regarded as a good car. Nothing special or fantastic.

I am searching for that "special" ingrediant..... a car to appease the badge snobs and also to act as a prop to my photographs.

Nothing worse than showing off (....I mean displaying) our Louis Vuitton luggage in our car only to be humbled by a comment about our choice of transport.

Obviously European cars are trouble and I could never do away with the Honda Accord. I do actually need a car to get from A to B and a European car can never guarantee this!

I would like to here comment from the forum.... we are surrounded by plastic surgeons, corporate lawyers (oh goodie) and presumably other sales professionals.

    What should I get?

Firstly - My loyal Honda Accord.
Displaying a token ribbon for the marriage of a friend. A sign of respect and also a way of ensuring we get a park right at the front of the church!

2 Current choice - both very different. I wanted to spend about AU$50,000 (about 25,000 GBP).

    1) Jaguar E Type series II - 2+2. I would like a spot for the kids and 2+2 has always been the ugly dog of the e type range.... trendy but loathered in the same token!

    2) Mercedes Benz E320 - Say a 50-60,000 km car, dealer serviced, 4 or 5 years old.... surely this should still have a few years left?

Okay, I'm going to be brutally honest here. I don't think there is anything wrong with your Honda. We were looking at used Hondas just this last year when I was looking for a car and they were so freaking expensive! LOL! They are good cars though and can take quite a beating. We ended up getting a really good deal on a Nissan (which can also take a beating), but I still would have taken a Honda if we could have found one in our price range. You car actually looks very nice in the picture, I don't know why you would think someone would think less of you for driving it. Also, quite frankly, that is one ugly Jag. Sorry, but it is. As for the Mercedes, they make nice cars but I often wonder if they are really worth their inflated price tags. Have you looked up reviews for any of these cars? Sometimes you can get great info and opinions from real people that own a particular model. Let's see... here we go, try this site: Consumer Ratings Index
I looked at this site when I was deciding on my Nissan, people had really nice things to say about it. I hope this helps you some.

I agree with bRs. Honestly, the Honda looks so much classier than the Jag and the Mercedes. I hate the look of the Jag. And Mercedes cost a lot to upkeep- even regular service costs a ton. I can't say that I would respect anyone any more or less because of the type of car they drive- and anyone who does is incredibly shallow.

I would pick a Honda over a Mercedes and a Jag any day.

'Unfortunately' you only own a Honda. Be glad that you own a car FULL STOP. Many people don't even have that luxury.
I also own a Honda and I would not giver her up for quids. In fact, I would buy another Honda over the other cars that you have pictured here.

Archie, seriously why do you care what other people think of the car you have?

You've stated before that you like your Honda and that it works for your family. That's all that matters. It works for YOU.

Who cares what those other people think! You should be judged on the content of your character and not on what you do or do not have.

Yes, there are people out there who will judge you for these petty, shallow things....but #### them I say.

    Think about it......

I think you girls are 100% correct.....

The Honda is a perfectly good car..... who needs to impress people they hate anyhow...... (even if that is also family).

Thank you for the good advice....

BTW - the Honda is much more reliable than most Benzes......

Mercedes Benz certainly makes lovely motor cars.... however they are packed with electronic gizmos that are frightningly expensive to fix.

I love this forum..... honest advice.... no pretense.... just the honest truth!

Glad we could help Archie. And if it makes you feel any better, I know some people that have A LOT of money and they still choose to drive an inexpensive car. There is nothing wrong with realizing some cars are just plain not good investments.

I'm glad some people don't care about what others think when they post harsh comments to you, me being one of those people. I don't care if people think I'm mean, but I'm just being honest.

Your posts are annoying. They're self-centered. They're materialistic. And if you write "humble" one more time, I think I'm gonna puke. This is the last time I'm going to respond to you, because frankly it's a waste of my time. You're never going to find happiness if you keep buying things for other people and not yourself, because really, that's what you're doing. You're buying things because you want people to have a certain image of you. You need to work on the inside first, because obviously something is lacking.

    Default A HUMBLE REPLY!

Then why do you respond? If you hate my posts..... just ignore them.
I love the word "humble" ..... it really is just an opening line for me!
Who are you to judge me?

Archie, sometimes in life its good to take a step back and take note of constructive criticism, it makes us better people.

lilstrlett was just expressing her opinion that's all, you may not like it but it is her opinion. I think the something missing from your life is not a new car or other worldly possessions but inner peace. I hope you find it and manage to slay those demons.

Quite happy and content with H for now!

I agree with lilstrlett one hundred percent.

I am tired of and nauseated by your posts. You are right Archie, we can ignore it and choose not to read it, but the problem is the LV forum is inundated by all your ridiculous posts, that we end up in one or other of your "humble" opinions.

Thanks to you, I have no interest in owning an LV.... EVER.
