    Default BAD LV STORE EXPERIENCE....

    Hello Girls/Guys,
I have a terrible story to report....
I have been very down since I was ripped off on ebay for 770 GBP. Seller sent me a 3kg box of washing powder instead of a LV Cotteville 50.....

Been having a very bad time.... wife nearly lost her 0.71 VVS2 I stone down the drain......pulled the sink apart in record time and THANK GOD.... I FOUND IT!!!!

Grandmother died a few weeks ago.....

Best friend (49 years old) died a week later......

Anyhow back to my LV store experience....
LV rang me to say the 2 keys I ordered for my LV President briefcase had arrived. I went to the store.... they were very very busy.....

Whilst waiting I noticed a $10 bill on the floor.... like nobody wanted it....
I walked over and picked it up and put it into my pocket.

I was then served by the LV staff.... and all was fine.....

Then the SA went to the door opener guy and was told that I picked up the $10 and still had it. She asked me if she could have it back as it belonged to a customer.
I handed over the money and advised her that it was just lying on the floor. I thought her customers were to rich to bother picking it up. Anyhow.... I told her that I own many hard case items HOWEVER I was not a snob who would let money remain on the floor unloved.....

I did not steal the money.... I simply picked up a $10 bill that was on the floor.

I felt she started to treat me poorly.... almost looking down on me.....

On leaving I spoke to the door opener guy and told him that I simply picked up the $10 as I thought nobody wanted it..... he spoke rudely to me..... I asked him "what do you think I should have done?" He told me I should have been honest and handed it in....
I then told him that I did not steal the $10.... and if I wanted to be a good samaritan I would have joined the priesthood..... I told him that LV charges $5500- for my briefcase..... I told him that it was hardly fair either.....

On reflection I was very very angry at the store....

I then rang the 1800 LV number in my country and made a complaint.
I told the lady that I did not need moral advice from a person who earn $15- an hour opening doors.... I advised her I has a serious LV collector with numerous hard case items....

She then told me the store manager would call me to apologies......

THAT WAS 2 DAYS AGO..... I have not heard anything....

PERSONALLY - I HATE LV SERVICE and I AM ANGRY AT THE STORE.

First of all, sorry about your grandmother and bestfriend.

...and as for LV, sometimes their staff can be jerks. Luckily, i've never had a bad incident, but yes, i've heard quite a few stories.

I'm so sorry about your grandmother and friend.

But I don't think the store did anything wrong. If the SA knew that the $10 belonged to a certain customer, she wasn't out of line asking you for it. I've found money in a store before and turned it in to the manager/supervisor. You could have asked the doorman if he had seen who had dropped it. If they spoke rudely to you, then they are in the wrong for that. But I don't think they were out of line asking about the $10.

My personal opinion on the $10 - I don't think the SA was completely out of line. I obviously wasn't there to witness her tone or manner, but I agree with Sammy that the SA was not out of line in asking for the $10 back. IMO, I would have turned the money in to a SA or store manager, but that's just me.

I have no problem with giving the $10 back.....
WHAT ANNOYS me is that they looked down on me for my actions..... especially a "door man" who could not afford an Accessories Pouch.......

I am not a priest/saint ..... if I see $10 I take it and take good care of it.....
If I handed it in.... what is to say the SA would do anything different...... she would probably buy donuts with it.......

I am so sorry for your grandother and friend. My heart sinks.

May I offer you a thought. Remember. Those at an LV store think they are like the clients...after some time you deal w/ every personality. So they become the person who most angered them if you would. Just remember you are a fine person, one who has integrity.... so who cares what they think...you said it yourself. I give you a smile

I completely agree with this. I worked in retail (and I am currently a server so I still deal with difficult people) and can't count the times I was verbally abused by customers (that's the main reason I left retail). If I had just dealt with a rude customer, chances are the customer I next dealt with might receive a slight attitude from me. Not saying it is right, but it is also not right the way some people treat retail staff.

Sorry about the members you lost but If you got robbed on ebay you can file a claim with the bank or credit card you used and also with paypal. Dont let that go! As for LV staff forget them just work on getting your money back from ebay! That's what I would do.

Sorry to hear about your loss... sigh, when it rains, it pours. Hope things start looking up for you soon, especially with the ebay scam (they make me so mad!!).

While I dont think the SA and doorman stepped out of line asking you to hand the $10 back, I think it was wrong of them to give you 'an attitude' because of it, though in such circumstances, that usually happens. I understand why you are annoyed by that, I would be too.

And really, if you see $10 on the floor, just pick it up and keep it.. i mean seriously, there is no name on the bill, who is to say that it belongs to a particular customer.

I mean the deal is.. unless someone saw the money fall from a wallet or pocket, I'll like to know how the SA is going to return the money to that person. I totally agree that the SA will just keep the money and buy herself or himself a nice lunch or something! So, no, I dont think it was wrong of you to pick it up and keep it.

The only exception is if there are people standing near the money, then maybe it could have belonged to them. So, it wouldnt hurt to ask. This incident happened to me too, I asked the people around if the money belonged to them and they said no. So i said "ok, then im gonna keep it". The store manager said fine if i wanted to.

I'm sorry u had such a bad experience. I hate it when SA and doormen turn all self-righteous and snobby towards their customers. I always wonder why they act like they are better than their potential customers... it always puzzles and annoys me at the same time.

I had a bad experience at Burberry too. I purchased a 200 dollar blouse and the SA was just rude towards me when I returned to the store to change the size. She went all snobby on me cos it was a sales item and made me feel like she was doing me a favor for allowing me to change the size. URGH!

Normally when I see money on the ground I pick it up and hold it to where anyone can see it and look around to see if anyone is looking for it. That has happened before, not in LV, and when I asked the SA she said "Girl put that money in your pocket.". lol
If no one was looking for it I would ask the SA if anyone claimed to have lost money? I wasn't there and I don't know the whole situation so I can not comment on your experience.
But I do have to speak up for the door man since I think you were way out of line to judge him the way you did.
WHAT ANNOYS me is that they looked down on me for my actions..... especially a "door man" who could not afford an Accessories Pouch.......
You don't know his financial situation, what he can afford or better yet what he chooses to spend his money on.

Wow to the doorman comment. Imagine what his life is like, having to deal with snobs all day long. Present company included in this case. And how are you so sure he can't afford whatever is in the store? My husband and I own a company and we are doing very well. But he still goes out into the field and works like a tech. Why? Because he loves the work. Can he afford to not be out in the field and just let everyone else do it? Sure. But he doesn't want to. He likes interacting with people, he likes fixing things and using his hands. And I always love when people make comments to him about how educated he sounds for just being a tech. Again with that stereotype. Fortunately he can laugh it off and keep living by the Golden rule.
And what about those who can't afford LV but are simply earning a living to feed their families? That isn't a bad thing and how lucky that he was able to find a decent paying job in this economy.

Regarding the $10, even my children would have asked people about the money and not pocketed it so I'm not sure how to respond to that one.

I think you need to take a deep breathe and maybe focus on the fact that you and you alone are making things worse for yourself. It sucks that you were scammed on Ebay. That is horrible and I wish you the best in getting your money back. But you are allowing this to infringe and consume the rest of your life. No one is going to go out of their way to help you (in any manner or setting) if you go after them with a negative attitude. And if you were snarling at the sales girls like you are in your posts, of course they aren't going to want to help you, let alone go out of their way for you or give you the benefit of the doubt.
I don't think I've ever had issues in any store I've gone into. But I make it a point of walking in with a smile on my face and a bright "hello" for everyone. Even the stores I only buy occasionally in are willing to walk the extra mile for me because I'm nice to them. Imagine what they go through on a daily basis with their other clients. I'm stunned at the things I hear people saying in Neiman's, or Barney's or the LV store. I really feel sorry for these gals. No commission is worth the abuse they take.
Remember, you can get more bees with honey. Be sweet no matter how you are feeling. It will make both of you feel better. And it will definitely brighten their day.

I agree with ZG and Maevey Blue.

Also, a job is a job, and deserves respect irrespective of it being a "doorman" or a CEO.

completely agree with ZG and Maevey, it's not about $10, it's the morality issue.
You can spend hundreds of thousand in the LV store but you can't buy respect if you have that snobbish attitude by looking down at others who make lesser than you.

This reminds me of the time when my 7 year old lost his $20 bill in Walmart. He had been saving for several months to be able to buy this toy and was, of course, fidgeting with the paper in his pocket because he refused to put it in his wallet. He wanted to be able to "feel" the money. Of course it fell out and someone snagged it. He was devasted. Wish there were more people like you, Zombie. Maybe then he would have been able to buy the toy and not have learned a rally hard lesson.
