SD.. I agree. At least I have the photos. I missed the Speedy and the Chantilly from time to time. The chantilly was perfect. The patina was so even. Adorable bag but spent too much time in my closet.

Helene 80, the French Company bag did not have a date code (LV did not introduced the datecode until late 80' after they took over from FC is my understanding but not a 100% sure). The manager of the Boca Raton LV guesstimate that it was from the 80 based on some catalog that he had under his desk . He was pretty funny about it. The inside was pig leather according to him. I hated to see the bag go but it was small for my needs even though I do not carry much.

I absolutely love the St Jacques. I would love to have on in Kenyan Fawn.

Technically a bag from 1994 may not be considered a vintage by many but as most have been discountinued either the model or the colors I would considered them as vintage.

Right now the only oldy that I have is a Pont Neuf from 1997.

    All the LV look beautiful
Timeless and elegant, I love the patina that most of the bags have. Gives it character, history and a whole lot of charm. If the bags could talk, what stories they would tell

Both have since gone - not sure what I was thinking

You're absolutely right - the date codes didn't come in till the '80s - I'm glad you got a guesstimate at the time, if I ever end up owning a French Company piece, I think I'll do the same!

Juicyholicmum - I did, and I'm still having moments of incredible frustration over it

I'd been eyeing up a few other pieces I wanted to own, and made a deal (yeah again!) with the BF that we'd not be completely frivolous and so I promised I'd let go of a couple of other pieces. Now I haven't gotten round to acquiring anything new yet, but am badly missing those two Epi bags!

On the upside: him and I are in the same boat - he's had to part with a few of his watches, and is missing them, so I think very soon we'll go back on our little deal --- so that's something to look forward to!

How is your collection going? And yes, yes, yes, add vintage!!! :gi67:

~I like this thread. It's always interesting to see the vintage pieces. The only vintage piece that I have is the Monogram Canvas Poche Toilette 19 (almost 20 yrs old). I don't really see a significant change in that style.~

Thanks Helene.. It is larger than business card. It is 5.1/2 long and a little bit over 3 1/2 wide. I use it for small receipts and I used to have my credits cards there and whatnot.

    Hello,
    I LOVE VINTAGE LV !

Personally some of the newer items DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR ME!!!! but show me something vintage... and .... WOW!

The term vintage in LV includes anything NO LONGER PRODUCED! .... So an item may only be a few years old BUT already VINTAGE.

Definately anything from the 90s is vintage.... Especially those EPI Colors which are no longer made....

I LOVE THAT BLUE KEEPAL!!! I WANT ONE NOW!!!! .....also want a RED LUSSAC!

I think we all regret selling some pieces!

I love vintage LV - for me it's the fact that you don't see the item a lot, so you feel like you're the only one with it!

I'm going to get a Toledo Blue Speedy at some point - it's on my wishlist!
