Default Re: Louis Vuitton's Nazi past...

Louis Vuitton spends lots of money each year to look like they are politically correct. And using Marc Jacobs is probably like saying, "One of my best friends is a ________ (insert the minority group)."

In Beverly Hills, a bunch of employees are suing Louis Vuitton. One of them is a Jewish girl who was a friend with a bunch of music celebrities. I hear that she was fired after she complained that a store manager (from east Europe) and another manager (I think from Iraq?) was saying bad things in the store about the Jewish people who shopped there. Also, they were making Jewish people work on Saturdays and on their religious holidays. Shen she complained - Louis Vuitton fired her.

I heard this on the radio. I think it was Nicole Ritchie who said it.

Did you read about the "****" comments in France made by one of the company's family members?!

Louis Vuitton as a company still has problems in dealing with jewish people, especially if they are employees. There is a lawsuit against Louis Vuitton now and a couple of Jewish employees sued. One of them was a manager and personal shopper to the biggest celebrities in Hollywood.

There is a Hebrew newpaper that is following the case. The company was trying to get the cases throuwn out. The newspaper reported that the lawyer for Louis Vuitton said that Jewish employees shouldn't get time off to worship because being Jewish is no diferent than being "a vegan" and that it is a lifestyle choice!

    How insulting!

I wonder how many other designers have "secret" pasts.

Very interesting story, and very informative, and I do plan to do my own research and locate a copy of Bonvicini's book. There was a time when Hitler's book Mein Kamphf was difficult to obtain too. Irregardless of the 1st amendment, if people don't like something, it gets censored, or taken out of context. Just an opinion not an endorsement.

INTERESTING! I also know for a fact that Hugo Boss supplied the Nazi clothing!
