    Default First LV bag

I've been a long time admirer of all things LV but had been more fond of Gucci in the past, until recently when the new store reopened here in my home town, Melbourne, AUS.

I went in to have a look around and ended up purchasing a damier graphite porte cartes and have since got a bronze vernis agenda

However i just ordered my first bag purchase, the monogram 45 keepall w/strap..I've held it many times in the store so I know how it feels, but I have a few questions I'm hoping someone here can answer!

With the canvas, how much softer does it get? the woman in the store said it would get significantly softer, and I wasn't sure exactly what she ment by that.

and also, how quickly do the lighter leather pieces start to turn dark brown? does it only happen in the places you touch or does it happen evenly everywhere?

    thankyou for your time!

    Congrats on your LV purchases!

The canvas does get softer with use, especially if it's exposed to the sun and heat. I actually like it when it's softer. As for the vachetta which is the "lighter leather", how quickly on how it patinas or darkens depends on how often you use it. Oils from hands, dirt and the sun contribute to darkening the vachetta. My mono speedy 25 which I bought in Sep has still not patina-ed as I've only used it a handle of times and it mostly sits in my closet.

^^^ Arianne is correct about the vachetta leather with patina or darkening. Eventually, all the leather will become dark. Personally, I nice, even patina!

I've heard of some people actually putting their LV into a sunny window to hasten the darkening of the vachetta, so that's always an option if you're wanting the darker trim.
    Congrats on your purchases!

If you don't put your hands on the handles or leather a lot, then it will take a long time for it to get dark. My suitcase still looks new on the handles (although it's got some crappy scuffs on it from travel), and I've had it since last April.
