Default Got a bag as a gift - not my taste

Hey guys. I'm new to the world of LV and need a littile advice. My dad got me a Louis Vuitton Cerises Speedy for Christmas. It's authentic (he paid $800, bought it from a known friend who bought it for $1000 - he has the original receipt), but it simply isn't my taste. I would like to sell it. What's a good website for that? Also, what can I do to authenticate the bag? I have the original receipt, red outer bag, lock (still wrapped in the tissue paper), and the little book. Thanks for any advice.

ebay would probably be your best bet. You will need to take a ton of pictures so people can see important details like the heat stamp, date code, etc. If you want, you can post pics on here if you are unsure of its authenticity.

^ I agree, ebay is a good website, but remember that if you list something as Buy It Now/Best Offer, the fees are much more than they would be if you did it Auction style. Another up-and-coming place to sell stuff is Bonanzle.com. Their fees are MUCH less than ebay's. Good luck with your selling!

AHHH A CERISE!!!!!!!!! Man...you're so lucky you don't even know it. Even if it isn't your taste, I would hold on to it...ebay is a good bet, but you have to be careful because the fees are high and also sometimes ebay cancels your item it someone says it's a fake even if it's not...ebay is a pain. I would almost hold on to it then sell it to someone who sees it and wants it...KWIM? I hate ebay.

^^^ True, true. Let-Trade, AFF, and Fashionphile all do consignment. Actually, Fashionphile was having a consignment special not that long ago.

Bonanzle is a great place to sell, but it's still new so it's going to take longer to sell on there. If you are in a hurry to sell, go for ebay. Just make sure you take LOTS of pictures for the auction- Zipper Pull, Heat Stamp, Date Code, handles, and make sure the condition is accurately described. Ebay favors buyers more than sellers, so just make sure the buyer can't claim there was something wrong with the bag that they "didn't know about".

    Good luck selling!

Oh, and if you are looking for consignment, Let-Trade, AFF, and Fashionphile are pretty good. Also try Yoogis Closet!

I think you should hold onto it until the market gets better so that you can get more money for it.

You have a point there. People don't really want to spend money right now.

I'm with the girls - even if you don't like it, keep it. It's a collector's piece, limited edition, and not something to just get rid of.

There are usually quite a few Cerises Speedys on eBay, so if you do decided to sell it, I would wait a little while. Check eBay to see how many are on there, and see how the economy is doing.

Your best bet is EBAY take lots of pictures, and get it authenticated by My Poupette, or Carol Diva!

    Good luck!
