Prices in Europe vs. US

I am going to Paris this November. A friend of mine wanted me to get LV wallet there because it's cheaper. I am sure it's true but with exchange rate and all that how much cheaper would it be?? Does anybody know?

Well 1 Euro is equal to 1.2623 USD... but its probably cheaper because you're buying it from somewhere that didn't have to pay tariffs on the bags and pay to have is shipped across an ocean. Other than that... I really wouldn't have any idea what the prices are like.

It's a bit cheaper. Someone told me that the price of a speedy 30 is...I think 419 euros. And you get some tax refunds when you buy in Europe as well, so you save even more money. :D

But I thought Euro's were like 1/2 of American money?? Wouldn't 419 Euro's be 819 american money?? LOL.. I'm probably so wrong, but hey I gave it a stupid shot! hehe!! I wonder if you are in France... can you buy directly from the LV factory and save money??

^No, I think the Euro is worth more than the American dollar. Regardless, if you did get a speedy 30 over there, you'll still be saving almost $100.

Also, you can't buy LV directly from the France factories. Actually, I don't think it would make sense because there are factories here in the United States (San Dimas, CA). We can't get LV directly from these factories, either.

Oh... well that stinks!! LOL.. I have no idea about the exchange rate.. but if you only save 100 it's no biggie unless you're going there for a trip and you run into an LV store. It's not a huge difference that you should jump on a plane today and go to Europe and buy ur LV stuff there! LV needs an outlet! LOL... I would die if they did!

Louis Vuitton is cheaper in Paris because i's a french company, the price are inferior than in the us but you can save even more with the detaxe.

Thanks everybody for your input. I am getting a Tobago Leather wallet for a co-worker of mine. He said that's the new design that just came out. I think it's very pretty. I wish they had it for women as well.

You can look at the prices in Euros if you go to Louis Vuitton: luxury leather luggage, French fashion designer and click on the French section. There's also another e-shopping link you have to click on to get to it. It's all in French, but it's still pretty easy to navigate

i just went to Europe and i believe that the exchange rate was .75. 1 american is = to .76 euro.. i looked it up on Currency Calculator
