Kempt, a new luxury handbag and accessories line, will be showcasing its spring/summer ‘09 collection during its official launch at New York City’s “The Train” show September 13th through the 15th, in the Terminal Stores, located at 269 11th Avenue between 27th & 28th Streets.
The Train show party will be held on Sunday, September 14th from 6:30 to 9:30pm at 269 11th Avenue between 27th & 28th Streets. All are welcome to attend in celebration of the event.
Erin Voorhies, Chief Designer and Creative Director of Kempt, focused on color and texture for this launch line, evidenced by her distinct use of both anaconda and ostrich skins. Each bag is hand stitched and handcrafted and retail from $950 to $4380.
Voorhies is seeking distribution for her line, and feels that small specialty boutiques and luxury department stores are the best fit for her product. Currently the bags are sold online at KEMPT - Fine Handbags and Accessories. The website launched in August and includes the designer’s blog.
Kempt is the brainchild of Voorhies and partner Ann Nolan, who met as students at the Rhode Island School of Design and created the brand to introduce a line of luxury accessories in hopes of re-imagining the classic American handbag.
