    It's not unusual for reptiles to die suddenly. They can be very sick for a really long time and you don't even know it until it is too late. This is because their little reptile brains are programmed not to show any weakness. If they do and they are in the wild, then they would be seen as potential prey. I'm not surprised that turtles that came from china town died after a couple of months. They tend to carry all sorts of diseases when poor husbandry is involved. If Jennifer gets a turtle from a reputable reptile breeder, then there shouldn't be any problem. Turtles can live for a really long time. But like I said, box turtles are easier to care for. Oh and the samonella actually comes from the food they eat. If you feed them raw meat, then they can have it pretty easily. Doesn't really hurt the turtle... but I wouldn't recommend kissing the turtle or anything. LOL!

    OMG, the second turtle rocks!!1 It's not afraid of the kitty at all it is too fun to watch. I have no advice for you since I've never owned a turtle before. My little cousin used to have water turtles too, I remember when they die
