Well I'll start by saying since I was a little girl I was obsessed with fashion. I still go back to my grandma's house and see drawings I did when I was a weee little thing. I had these traceable silhouettes and I would draw clothing over them...I even priced out the garments!!!! Hahaha. It's really funny - you could tell it was early 90's because I designed a wedding dress like the one in the "November Rain" video from Guns'N'Roses (I was the MTV generation...what can I say).

My obsession with clothing was fascinating to my mom and dad since they were not really concerned with it. My grandmother was a model and she enjoyed seeing my interest in fashion grow. She definitely helped me move forward with it. And so we would shop and I would get these beautiful little dresses. I remember in elementary school I would wear my dresses and the kids (so mean back then) would make fun of me and ask me why I was wearing a dress and why did I get all made up? My answer? Everytime... it was either "I have to go to a wedding after school" or "I have to attend a funeral after school". Yep...that was the best I could come up with. Those kids must have thought I was crazy - going to weddings and funerals a few times every week.

Then I got so into fashion that I NEEDED it to be my career. I did some modeling when I was about 12 and only loved it because they gave me free clothes (I remember for sure a very beautiful RL outfit) and even a bottle of CK One (would you believe I still have it? no...I don't use it). I thought it was SO COOL to have a designer perfume! But I was 12...give me a break okay?

I then moved out to another town and started Junior High School. I wrote for our school paper - yes I was the Fashion writer. It was then in JHS that I discovered a college for fashion (Fashion Institute of Tech - which I'm now an alumni of). It seemed like a dream come true. So I spent the entire rest of my school career focused on getting into FIT. I think it was really 9th grade when I started getting into more higher end brands.

So to make a long story short - it started on my 16th birthday in which my grandmother purchased me the LV Twin Pouchette PM. I loved it because it was different from your typical pouchette (hey...I grew up on Long Island...everyone has an LV).

From there it went on and on. I was hooked. Plus, going to fashion school fueled the fashion fire I had burning from within.

OMG I am LOL!!!! I wanted that dress from the Novemeber rain video when I got married too! I just thought it was sexy and beautiful/classy all at the same time! I am just cracking up because I don't think I have ever told anyone that before and here is another person with the same childhood dreams! I love it!

I also don't remember my first handbag. My first designer bag however was Kate Spade. I had a beautiful tan leather bag which I don't know the name or even how much it cost, probably like $350-$400. I don't have it anymore though. I got another Kate Spade after that (my yellow polka dot tote), whichI never use bc it's beat. My first expensive designer bag was an LV mini looping bag. I sold it a while ago, it just wasn't my style, but I did keep it for about 3 years.

I had to get an A in French to go to Paris.
Well, I ended up the only 12th grader who was in the class [we had 6 kids in the 4UFrench, and the other two always skipped, and the other 3 were Immersion kids, so they were in grade 11.]
They gave an award to the girl who had highest mark amongst the grade 12s in French and who had taken it through the 4 years.
Granted, there was no competition. I was the only grad who was actually going to class on a regular basis.
So I was allowed to buy a ridiculous bag in Galleries Lafayette, and decided on a Cambon pochette.
That was my first real "designer" handbag.

My taste is a bit better now, though.

I've always had a thing for fashion and have admired things from afar, but expensive purses were never in my budget. Finally one christmas my 2 aunts got me 2 coach purses for christmas and I guess that's when it all began! One of the aunt's came down from hawaii again and got me another Coach bag and then I got super hooked. My first purchase, all on my own, was the Dooney & Bourke hearts bag.. the one lindsay lohan modeled, lol. I've always admired LV and such but whew! Cannot afford that price tag! So my boyfriend bought me my first, and only, Dior, from some website. I was afraid he'd been scammed and that's when I found this forum! And thanks to ya'll, I'm officially bag crazy!
