hey susie, i'm reading this a little late. but i'm very sorry about your dog...i know that for some, a pet is like a kid and it's really hard for that individual to deal with something happening like this. i know words can't make you feel completely better but i do feel very bad about you losing your dog and i'm extremely sorry that you had to go through this.

we're all here if you need anyone to talk to.

hey everyone - thanks for the wonderful messages. so i got this story from my mom which i thought i'd share with everyone. first i'll say that my mom and step-dad have this very close friend, glen. glen is a psychic. people travel all over to see him and try to contact their passed loved ones. since my family is very close with him, he gives them readings occasionally. however, my stepdad is really always skeptical and likes to "test" him so he purposely doesn't tell him anything hoping that he'll pick it up.

so he was doing the reading to my stepdad (and it was tape recorded - he records all his readings). all of a sudden he goes "okay so i see a little dog with your mother. she's new and she seems to remember your mother and they are both very happy together. not only is this little dog there but there is also another larger dog that is with your father. they are running around and seem really happy"

so basically - my stepdad's mom loveeeed Tammy. she would watch Tammy when we went out of town. so Glen picked up my little pooch but the OTHER large dog was actually my stepdad's dog from years ago that he grew up wiht. it was his one and only dog who was very close with his father (his dad was a firefighter and their dog was a dalmation...too cute).

So if you don't believe in that stuff - it's okay not to. BUt ya know, when it's my time to go I really really do take comfort in the knowledge (well...hope) that my little munchkin will be there waiting for me.
Susie, that's beautiful. I'm a believer, definitely. I like Sylvia Browne, her books are very comforting, (she's a psychic), anyways, i've read in one of her books that when we (humans) pass on, the first loved ones to greet us at "the light" or at the "end of the tunnel" are our pets, because they beat our loved ones too it. Isn't that beautifuL?? I can't wait to reunite with my doggies that have passed on.

Maevey - Glen lives on Long Island, NY :)

Silvia Brown is great. My girlfriends and I would love to watch her when she was on Oprah! My mom and granny are big fans of hers too. Hey ya know...can't hurt to believe right? Honestly - what harm will it do? None. :)

o BTW my mom just got a new little man in the family - his name is Nicky and he is a little chocolate siamese kitten. So it looks like Cajun has a little brother now :)
I will take photos when I visit my mom this week. With death comes life - the all encompassing circle of life. My little pooch is just running around like mad and digging holes all over the place now. oh and getting in fights with skunks (she loved doing that).

that is so sad to hear. I know how you feel because 4 years before I had a cat and she also died. She's very sweet and intelligent, I kiss her so much.
