Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
LOL.. this sounds so much fun. I'd say FL or NYC... but NYC is probably the most logical. I mean think about it.. you don't need cars.. and no one has to worry about renting one. Plus NYC is fashion empire but it's also VERY expensive. Rooms are VERY expensive there... you are lucky if you can get a room at $200.... and don't go during fashion week... even the crappiest rooms are like $400... I went during fasion week once.. I had a music meeting... and all the hotels were booked... so I picked this one.. it was horrible and it was $385 a night! Great location but it was HORRIBLE. Not too many nice hotels in NY at a great price.
I just stayed at the MUSE hotel for a commercial shoot.... SOOOO NICE! Anything in times square is always nice or on broadway. Anything on 5th ave, madison, near central park are going to be mucho bucks.
But that's if you guys even choose NY! Hope you all have funnn!!!!!

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
^^ That is true about the hotels being super expensive in NYC. Maybe we should think about Chicago? Everything there is pretty close together and you can take the trains everywhere! If you book through Southwestvacations.com you can book fight+hotel at a steal. The shopping there is wonderful!! Just a thought!

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
^^^ Yeah, I would say Chicago. Flights are cheap to Chicago because everything connects there. LOL! It would be non-stop flight for me, rather than multi-stop (with one of the stops in Chicago) like NY would be.

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
Oh and for Fashion stuff... you don't really need a tour... All the fashion stuff is on 5th Ave, Madison, SoHo, and Bleecker street. Soho also has really cool boutiques... if you aren't all about name brands... you'll find A LOT of fashionable and trendy stuff at Soho.
And the Macy's on 34th street is a MUST! You must see it if you haven't it's just AMAZING. It's 7 and 1/2 floors.. and it's just really cool to be in the world's largest Macy's.
If you've never been to NY... trust me it's SUPER EASY to get around and you don't need a car. Cabs are expensive but you can pretty much walk everywhere or take the train. It's not very big, but it's AMAZING.

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
Yeah, bRs, flights are non stop for me to Chicago as well and super cheap. If we save money on our flight+hotel we can spend more $$ shopping!!
I now change my vote to CHICAGO!

Yeah, but that Macy's is pretty Ghetto.
I hate that Macy's bought the Marshall Fields in Chicago. The store on State St. is amazing.
I want to add that I don't mean for that to sound rude.

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
Ya.. NY is so expensive.. but there is NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.. it's the place to be for fashion. You can go there and spend tons and tons and tons. If you have never been there... you will just stand there is total amazement. The city really truly is amazing. So much to do... the food is amazing, broadway shows at night, Ripleys Believe it or not and Madame Toussands wax museum is a must, the museums are amazing, walking around soho, seeing the world trade center site is very moving, walking down 5th ave with your fabulous purse and sky high heels and central park is gorgeous, going to rockefellar center (they have an amazing restaurant there, going to the top of the empire state building at night... is out of this world.. you see the whole city before you, there is a Sex and the city tour I heard was amazing... but always sold out, they have an HBO store that is so much fun to stock up on SATC goodies, the garment district is so much fun... you see the factories where tons of designer goods is made... and it's just an amazing city. I LOVE NY.

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
For me to fly to Chicago it'd be like $280
How come you HAVE to have a hotel when you're booking a flight on that site?

I don't think the Macy's on 34th street is ghetto at all. I've been there so many times and it even has an LV inside. I think it's amazing. Come see all the Macy's in FL... you will def. think the Macy's in NY is NOT ghetto.

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
Jess- It just makes it cheaper.
I went once and my flight+hotel was cheaper than one night in the hotel where I stayed.

Where do you live??? I live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL... right near the beach. And going to a Macy's here is a NO... it's disgusting. I always go to Nordstrom.
I actually live super close to that Saks 5th Ave that's closing on the beach. Have you guys heard of that? It's making nation wide news, since everything in the store will be 75% off. I'm hoping I get in line.. to snag a balenciaga 75% off.
My aunt use to have an apt right on Park Ave... it was huge. If she still had it.. I'd share it all with you.. and everyone could of crashed there. LOL...
