Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
Alicia - It depends on when it is and whether or not I have money.

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
my vote goes to NYC. I am almost always there visiting my friends and family. I was actually there this past weekend. I guess it all depends on the date - my schedule is usually pretty insane.

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
I'm so jealous of anyone that gets to go! I have been pining for NYC for some time.
I think next year when we go on vacation, I am going to try to get hubby to take the train to Chicago, stay 2 days, then the train to NYC from there...stay 3 days, then take the train back home (which takes 24 hours)...I don't know though...

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
as long as its planned far enough in advance for me to get time off and save for the trip i am definitely going. if its in nyc then even better! i have not had a vacation in 8 years, maybe even if its in NYC ill get a room in whatever hotel all you gals stay in and we can have a hotel party with face masks and manicures! and yes, i am 13 years old. haha.

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
^i work at Holiday Inn, which happens to be a very nice hotel. the rooms go for about $129-$169 per night, depending on availability, etc. anyways, i get a discout and i only have to pay between $39-$59 a night depending on location. for me, i'd rather get the discount, stay at a great hotel, and have extra $ for shopping all in one, lol.
so if anyone is interested, let me know after we decide on the city.
though it would be nice to stay where everyone else is...but for me, that will depend on the hotel and how much it is per night.

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
^^oh of course, i mean i would give up the hotel fun and just stay at my own house if its super expensive! Alicia, do they still have the rule that you cant rent a room in your own hotel? we had that rule and when my out of town boyfriend came to visit i had to shack him up in a different town! it was worth it though because the room was $19!

^um, i don't think so but i'm not exactly sure. from what i've heard, the hotel that i work at will actually give you a comp room if there is like bad weather or something.

If plans can be set in concrete far enough in advance, I'd love to go. My vote is for NYC!

oh yeah, they did that during a bad storm and all, but like if i wanted to go party (my hotel was on a strip of bars) i was not allowed to stay in my own hotel! made things quite complicated when i started up a summer fling with a guy from FEMA in town for 3 months doing flood damage assessments...
anywho, i revoice my votes for NYC or DC. even though i prolly wont be in dc by then, you can combine shopping, dining, culture, and history for cheaper than nyc plus the gas and taxes are cheaper and the shopping is pretty awesome...Tysons Corner ROCKS (even though its in VA and you have to take the train there)

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
Ok I had to read all of the entries so I could catch up on what's been going on since I've been gone :) I think NYC is the best idea. Easy for me to get there, and my boyfriend is living there this summer doing an internship (making his way for our big move up there in January). So of course I think NYC is the best choice, plus there is a TON to do there. The only problem is hotels are a lot more expensive, so if people don't mind sharing a room with someone they've only talked to online, then they could save money.

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
Haha and DC is even easier for me to get to since I'm only 2 hours away, so I guess that's my 2nd choice.

Re: TBF MEET - pick the city
Any ideas on if we're actually going to do this? Any cities in a top 3?
