I want to see SATC movie so bad!! My husband, who watched almost every season except the last half of season 5 and all of season 6...(he was with his ex wife) told me that I would LOVE the show, but needed to watch all the shows before seeing the movie.
It came out while I was in high school, and we didn't have HBO ... then, once I was in college (no HBO at the dorm) I STILL couldn't watch it. Never caught it when it went through syndication on TBS (I was working 2 jobs and full time in school - not enough time in the day to sleep let alone watch TV) SOOO...I haven't seen but a couple of shows.
I looked on amazon.com today, and ebay, and complete series (all seasons) sets are running from $75-$300...I can get it for $109 on Amazon.com
Do you think that is a lot to pay for some DVD's that I may only watch once? I mean, I know it's hours upon hours of shows..but still...
Do you think you need to watch the show before seeing the movie? I dont' want to waste $100 if I dont have to (sounds weird coming from someone who will drop $1,300 on a purse without thinking, eh?)
If you love the show as much as I do, you will buy the set, which I personally think is well worth $109, and watch the episodes over and over and over. I have seen every episode 1000 times but I still watch them every night at 11 on the CW.
If you don't want to spend the money and you have HBO On Demand, you can view them there. They are also on Monday through Friday at 11 pm on the CW and they come on TBS quite often at night, between 11 and midnight.

I was going to say the same thing- I have the Blockbuster pass and I have been renting the DVD's online, trying to play catchup to understand the movie and get the full effect. I didnt watch it back when it was on tv. (To rent the movie is not much at all, just a few dollars a month so consider that as well...) I have been watching it on DVD. Sometimes in the movies they have cameos from celebs or members from the tv show and if we havent seen it then we might miss the joke, so to speak. I am only watching the last few seasons before it ended, not all the way from the beginning. I also have the book, which gives alot of insight as well. I am not a big SITC fan but I love the fashion and I love SJP so me and my friends will make a night of it. But I will not watch it until I finish my DVD's....
Heres a site that has links for watching every episode online. Ive been using it to refresh my memory, as SO much stuff is missing from the syndicated episodes. Youve got to watch them unedited to get the full effect!
I went ahead and upgraded HBO and Shotime...I love Big Love, Weeds, Californication, and I really want to see the new show Diaries of a Call Girl...and I will need OnDemand because when I start back to school in the fall, I will miss Monday shows (class ends at 8:45, so I will get home around 9:15-9:30)
I have been watching season 6 OnDemand, but still want to see the earlier ones too...

I can't wait to see the movie....I'm a big fan of the show...Carrie got me addicte to Manolo shoes. That's not good at all...make it so much harder to save money for my bags
