Default Anyone Else Have Hair Issues?

Ok so I have hair issues.

My hair is thick (really thick), and kind of does this curly/wavy thing if I let it air dry. If I want it to look good I have to blow it dry (which makes a big poofy hairdo - I'll post embarrassing pictures), then I have to use a flat iron on it, which takes like an hour to do.

Does anyone else have issues like this with their hair?

I wish my hair was straight so I could just let it dry and always have my hair down and it look good!

Don't mind the no makeup/un-cuteness going on! This picture is like 2 years old.

This is what my hair looks like air-dried... it takes forever to dry and always looks different:

And this is how my hair is currently, with an hours worth of work (sorry I look depressed in the pic!):

Well, my hair is annoying! I have to blow dry it, then straighten it...everyday! If it's humid out...the lower half of my hair isn't straight anymore. I need to buy like Frizz Ease hair serum or something lol!

My hair is usually straight-ish. If i let it air dry, it becomes pretty wavy and frizzy, but if I blow dry it, it just looks really frizzy, and i still straighten it to get it smooth and pretty... my hair is shoulder length and it takes about an hour to do every morning, and I hate it. I need a better plan.

I'm sure most of you have heard of this, but there's something called Japanese Straightening (Thermal Reconditioning). It's really expensive at about $600-$700, and needs to be re-touched 6months-1year after it's done (depending on how long it takes for your hair to grow).

Here's the link to an article written by a girl who had it done:

Personally I like it better wavy and curly. Much more flattering for your face.

My daughter has blonde curls and I use a special shampoo in it. It keeps it manageable and soft (and softer to look at). I'd go with that. We go between Bedhead Moisture Maniac and Catwalk Curls Rock.

Thanks maevy :) I've tried using a curl shampoo before (I think it might have been Herbal Essences or something), but it did nothing for me.. I was going to try this curl activating shampoo but I hesitated. I'll have to check out those you mentioned!

I like to use Herbal Essences spray gel - It doesn't really control the frizz too well, but for me it's the easiest thing. It doesn't make your hair hard if you don't use a lot, but it keeps your waves/curls intact. I'm sure there's something out there more expensive than the one I use that works better.

My hair is a pain too. I usually just let it be curly because I am so worried about it being damaged, obsessed with it not beinbg damaged. When I do flat iron it I do it on a day that is not humid, if it's humid it's a waste of time. Also, my friend blow drys hers straight with frizz ease and a round brush, so it's still full but straight. Very pretty. I usually use a product specifically for curly hair so when my hair is curly it's not bushy or frizzy, sleek curls. Frizz ease is wonderful.

I wish I had you guys' problem... My hair is very straight and won't hold a curl unless there is no humidity in the air whatsoever... For this reason I keep my hair short.
