I used to straighten with a bow dryer, coat it with hairspray and then run a curling iron through it, then stick it in a bun or pony everyday for years. Sophomore year of college I was like screw this. Now I deep condition every day, wash once a week, and my prep is down to 5 minutes. I run some BioSilk silk therapy through it, then some Alagio Crazy Curls balm and let it airdry. If I have time I spent 15 minutes drying it with a blow dryer on low with a diffuser. My hair has never been so happy, and I think girls with naturally curly hair look best with curls - just like how girls say I can spot a fake bag a mile away, I can tell when your hair is NOT really straight. Go with the curl is my motto.

Yes, that is obvious. Especially when it is humid or raining.

So I left for Cancun with straight hair. I thought, well atleast everyone will see that my hair really does look good, because after the first day of being there I knew it would be curly or in a pony tail the whole time, which it was. When I got home I actually took the time to blow it dry with a brush, and it ended up blowing out straight, but it was still poofy. Because my hair is so thick it is poofy until I use the straightener, so even if my curly/wavy hair isn't there, the poof is. So I have to straighten it if I want it to look somewhat good.

I use this new stuff called Crazy Curl Balm by Alagio - it is fantastic. Yesterday I put some in after my shower and dryed it with the diffuser at like 4pm (getting ready for dinner). We went out to dinner in the rain, it was crazy humid all night, we came home and played pool in the damp basement, and I slept on it. When I got up this morning for brunch at 11 I took it down (I sleep with a top bun) and it was like I had just fixed it.

I have really frizzy, fine wavy hair. Usually I would just wake up, wash it, and let it dry in a ponytail or bun but I finally broke down and bought a chi straightener. I got it at trade secret (the only authorized retailer in my area) to avoid fakes, so I paid list price for it but it's worth every penny!! I can straighten my hair in under 20 minutes! Plus I love that it can curl my hair starting from the root, so now my ends don't get fried.

Have any of you guys/gals ever tried Chi's Silk Infusion? It is the greatest!

My straightener is like my best friend, haha. I just wish I didn't have to use it.

I have thick wavy hair, but not in a nice way. I've been using ceramic hair straightener for years. It is amazing! I wished I had found in my teenage years. Would have saved a lot of angst! But I just wash my hair, blow dry, spray with oil for hot iron, use straightener and then anti frizz serum. Lasts for days even in humid climate. People can't believe I have wavy hair naturally.

I'm the same way! Mine will stay straight until I get it wet. When I wear my hair wavy/curly people always ask me what I did to my hair, and I always say "nothing, that's why it's like this!"
