I'm pretty clumsy when it comes to holding cups. For some reason, I'll be taking a sip and my drink will just fall and splash everywhere!!! Just last week at the chiro's office, I was in the waiting room and my dh handed me a cup of water and I dropped it as I was bringing it to my mouth !! My clothes were drenched, not to mention the tile and the chair I was sitting on. The front desk girls GASPED loudly and brought me towels and then took the chair outside to dry! All I could do is apologize over and over again, but it was sooo funny I couldn't stop laughing. I went to the follow up appt. the next day and everyone asked if I wanted water

Actually, I was talking about the wheelchair lady. But yes the older lady did ask for it. She asked for clarification. Never do that with a toddler.

On that note, the older looking woman (Grandma) probably went home and started a make-up, exercise and hair regimen. I know I would have. Because again, little kids don't lie or try to hurt you. They are honest. Sometimes painfully honest.

It would depend on the age. When your children are young you walk a fine line while trying to teach them subtlety and proper etiquette but also not trying to squelch their personalities. We talk a lot about hurting people's feelings and not saying anything negative to someone. It's difficult though when you have a child (or two) that want to know everything. They want to know why things work like they do, why people think the way they do, etc... And I love that. I love that my son wants to know more about everything.
