Pet Peeves
Thought I would start a thread.
People who don't/won't help you do something but then criticize it to death if it isn't done to thier liking.

Re: Pet Peeves
Okay... I hate parents that have absolutely no control over their kids. I mean running around, screaming, acting completely inappropriately for their surroundings. Ugh... and that lady that was just letting her kids wrestle around on the floor in the lingerie department one night when I was working over there. They were knocking over fixtures and there was underwear all over the floor! She didn't even apologize OR pick any of it up. She didn't even tell them to stop.

Re: Pet Peeves
My husband knows better.

The latest was myself and another mom having to organize my daughter's K festival at school. We share the stage, tables, etc with 2 other K classes, so it is supopsed to be a team effort. One mom (in a totally different class - thank goodness - but I still have to see her anyway - blech!) always signs up for these things (trying to be super mom or something) and then doesn't help a bit. She's super bossy and full of ridiculous and time consuming ideas, gets really angry when someone says no, and then doesn't follow through on her end of the deal anyway when she does get her way.
I should have known better, because this is the 3rd year she has pulled this. My son is in the same grade as her dd.
Anyway, this year she took it one step farther because they had their festival the day before ours, and she had some of the moms actually take down the stuff and then act as if she had "forgotten" that we hadn't had ours yet. Witch. Luckily my husband and I got there at the start of morning classes and put it all back up. I can't imagine what would have happened if we had gotten there 30 minutes before the festival like I had planned to. Oh, and not only had she taken things down, but she had also taken a lot of the stuff home.
And I know she had to sneak to do this because if the headmistress had seen her, she would have stopped her immediately.

Re: Pet Peeves
Parents that let their children totally disrespect them and then wonder why thier kids are total monsters.
Oh, and children that actually talk back to you when you tell them to do something! That just infuriates me. Makes me want to put them over my knee or knock 'em one!Thinking of...

Re: Pet Peeves
Guy - LOL! Trust me, if you had to clean up the mess I had to that day, you would have been pretty pissed too. Ugh! What is wrong with parents today anyway? People keep telling me, oh you'll feel differently when you have your own kids. Well I'm sorry, but I'd rather die than let my kids behave like that! People can be so ignorant sometimes. Just because I don't have kids, I don't know what is and is not good parenting? I can see very clearly from example people!
Errm... sorry, didn't mean to loose it there. Let's see, another pet peeve. Women that set their baby on the table in a restaurant and change their diaper. Yes, I have seen several people do this. Are they insane?! How disgusting, rude, and endangering to other people! They should be thrown out of the restaurant for that... I think its considered a health violation.

Re: Pet Peeves
That's a poor excuse for bad parenting. I would never let my two act like that anywhere and they can really be frenemies. But they know better. We are on best behavior while in a store or we feel the wrath of mommy.
And on that note, I am aware of my children enough that I know their limitations. You don't take them to a store during nap time or after bedtime.Thinking of...

Re: Pet Peeves
"Parents" (using that term loosely) that take their children to age "un" appropriate movies.
My husband and I went to see The Legend. There were two families there that had toddlers and wee-ones with them! And these little guys were crying during the scary parts. I was so upset and confronted one of them after the movie.
And the part that really got me:
The theatre has a child care facility (and it's free to movie goers). Very secure, lots of safe things for the kids to do, and they give you a pager in case of an accident or the child needing you. This woman told me that she didn't trust the child care place with her children. So instead she brings them into an R rated movie, scarring them for life! And you wonder why so many kids are so desensitized to violence....
