Maevey, i really admire you for providing the cats care they need and home. My dog is a yorkie but i didn't bought him from a pet store. I got him from a private shelter which actually registered with govt and qualified for tax refund.
She has a big farm with lots of cats and dogs, she can remember every name of each animals which touched my heart. My dog was the most timid guy there, he only knew how to hide and stay still when someone trying to touch him. Other dogs were super hyper and active. I knew he is going to have a hard time get adopted.. so i chosen him over 12 yorkies that time. He was very quiet and timid, i thought he is a mute.. seriously, the first 4 days, he had no noise at all, no barking nothing.. i was very worried, but now he is just a happy dog.
Inspired by that shelter owner, i always tell myself i want to do that in the future, if i can afford to.
"your pet is just part of your world, but to them, you are their world."
that's why i spoil my dog in any way i can, i think he deserves the best.

Some of them just never get over it and stay mute. Your little one is so lucky to have had you come along.

Although we volunteer at Tonja's and I give as much money as I can to her (buy food, etc), I could never take on the facility like she does. I've told her several times that she is the Mother Theresa of animals. She sees the worst in humanity, has to deal with death and sickness everyday, and yet she trucks on because this is her calling.
