Guy - Yeah, I've been trying to eat stuff with whole grains in them. My husband is mad though cause his french toast looks funny now. LOL!

How do you feel about herbal, vitamin, and other dietary supplements? My husband is obsessed with taking all these pills (especially fish oil capsules). I suppose they aren't the best way to get certain nutrients but taking them in appropriate amounts couldn't hurt, could they?

Im a fan of Multi-vitamins and fish oils. Those are definately good for you. As far as diet pills goes, I wouldnt touch them. I dont want to take any chances with pills that'll mess with my heart.

^^^ Nah, I don't do diet supplements. Those make you so jittery!
So fish oil and vitamin supplements are okay? Well, I guess I'd better keep up with taking them then, huh? My husband has a daily ration. LOL!

Guy... How do you work in some extra activity when you live a hectic life? I work in a finance department as a senior accountant and se weeks I work 12-14 hours... By the time I get Home I am soooo exhausted and I really don't have time to cook and I also have my husband to spend time with ... He is self employed and so he works out in the am after I leave for work...

When I was religiously doing Sunrider morning and night I lost 20 pounds of left over "baby" fat. I was also doing some sort of cardio/toning 4 days a week.

Ugh... stupid sinus infection. Alright, I haven't been doing anything for the past few days. Plus I've been eating a lot... guess the infection didn't affect my appetite any.

Alright, so today I had my usual sandwich for lunch and dinner is probably going to be hamburgers. Don't worry, whole grain buns and veggies as a side dish.
As for exercise, we'll have to see how much homework I can get done first.

if you're concerned about spending quality time together with your husband...Then maybe It would be a good practice if you can get him to go to the gym with you or workout as a couple . The hardest part is to find the motivation to workout after a long day of work. If you can get through that hump...ITS ALL GRAVY!!! (Not really lol). OR..You can get yourself a treadmill and workout at home. OR OR OR.....Pop in a exercise video and workout in the living room...anything is better than NOTHING!

If you think about it...We have 24 hours in a day. All you need is to just find ONE hour within a day to workout. If you want it BAAAD enough...you'll make time to do it!!

Alicia- I havent forgotten about you. Ive just been sick as a dog this past couple of days and havent been doing anything but laying here.

Guy, I couldn't offer any amount of anything to get my dh to the gym. He's such a bum.
And at 46, he should be doing cardio every other day to keep that blood pumping.

Oh, let's see here. I had a Panera bacon, egg and cheese this morning because I was so hungry. A chai latte. And then a thai tea slush with boba and a burger (no bread) and 10 fries for dinner. Then the kids and I ran 1/2 mile and walked another 1/2. I'm not happy. Think I'll head into the eliptic...

The Guy! What's a healthy 4-5 times a week run to loose a couple of pounds??! I hope that's not a stupid question!

Does running really shed pounds EVERYWHERE???!

Not a stupid question at all! Indeed jogging will work just about every major muscle in your body and therefore will help you "slim" down EVERYWHERE. I recommend jogging (or speed walking) at a slow pace on the treadmill for ONE hour five times a week. (or 4-5 miles at the track). BUT! If you're a beginner jogger...then start slow with 2-3 miles per hour and work your way up.

Note: Make sure you stretch and warm up before you jog and cool down afterward....or else baaaad things will happen!!

I would also like to make it clear that proper eating is equally important as exercising. If you have a poor eating habit...it's going to be really tough to shed the pounds.

I know.

But the hour on the eliptic should have helped.

LOL! Yeah, eating well IS the hardest part. I'll be doing good all week and then my husband just ruins it on the weekend. Then he has the nerve to tell me that I am the one that is unhealthy.
