Yeah, tell me about it. Try combining full-time school, homework, working at a job, and (attempting) to keep up with wifely duties. I say attempting because that seems to be last on the list and I don't even have time for that most of the time. The house is pretty much in a disarray at the moment... has been for the last few months. So yes, finding time to actually work out is very difficult! I feel your pain! Plus grabbing food on the go is very tempting when you're constantly having to be somewhere.

Hehe... and I say all this but then I'm chatting on the forum at the same time too. LOL! Well, I'm usually just popping in on and off while I work on homework. Most of it is done on the computer anyway, so when I get tired of staring at it after awhile, I take little breaks here. Oh yeah, and I have to find stuff to blog about! I wouldn't want to miss out on that!

GUY - ok, so i'm 5'4" and currently 135 lbs. (minus like 10 lbs. for my boobs, liiterally) and i want to get down to 115 lbs because i think i'd be happy there. anyways, can you give me a breakdown of the best exercise routine so i can lose those pounds and tone up a little without gaining a whole lot of muscle mass? i'm unsure of exactly what to do and the right way to do it so if you could give me like a list to go by including cardio, arms, legs, stomach, etc., i'd really appreciate it!!!

Sure! It would be my pleasure! First off, DO you have a gym membership? I need to know whether you will be able to have access to machines or if this will be all bodyweight type workouts.

I start an MBA program in August, but luckily it's for working adults and it is only one night per week. I am curious to try an all online program instead...since University of Wisconsin has an AACSB accredited program...the other program I think I will do that meets once per week is accredited, but not by AACSB and I want to teach one day and to teach at a state university they need to be AACSB accredited.

I want to teach so I have summers off so at least I can live fabulous a couple of months per year. Should have been a high school math teacher...but they don't make crap and I like nice things.

Back to weight loss. I am drinking a Diet DR. Thunder (wal mart knock off of Diet Dr Pepper) and eating a walmart brand honey bun...

Month end sucks...I have so much work to do and people keep bothering me. I get really bitchy and I just snapped at a coworker and I feel bad...but she asks the same question each month and its been six months and I just get tired of it. She should ask our boss instead of asking me repeatedly.

**Ugh**
I got up late and couldn't make my turkey bacon. Maybe I will have a Chicken Pita for lunch instead of a hamburger.

So the workout yesterday killed me. I had a heck of a time getting out of bed this morning. So after the house was cleaned up a bit and the kids did their homework, I did 25 minutes on the eliptic, ate 3 corned beef and cheese rolls for lunch and drank 2 big glasses of water. Dinner will be the same, plus some raw veggies.

ok, today i'm back on track...i think.

for lunch i had a can of tuna with 2 slices of tomato and lowfat, low sodium french dressing (GUY - yes, i'm sure dressing isn't good for you, lol) and i had half of a jumbo grapefruit. for dinner, i might just have a little oatmeal. i need to go shopping and stock up on some lean meats...

i think i might go and use the treadmil...i'll post later to reveal if i did or not, lol!

question for THE-GUY: what are the limitations and restrictions on eating fruits? i mean there must be some because they still have sugar in them...

its the same way for me when i'm around my boyfriend. i mean, he cares about trying to eat healthy but when we are together we love going out to eat or cooking something really good (though when we opt to cook at home, its usually not bad). but yeah, when we go out to eat we really don't watch what we order. we usually get two meals that we both want to try and we split them. we use to ALWAYS get an app, but we haven't done that for the past few months. and since i always have a sweet tooth, i either like to bake something (i baked brownies the other day) or get dessert. i know that sounds awful! anyways, when i am by myself, i am so much more on track and i can usually lose weight pretty quick. its just those days when i see him i end up like gaining back the pound or two i lost. and i'm not blaming him for it - its just that couples like to eat together, ya know? but serioulsy, i need to stop using that as an excuse because if i want to drop some pounds that badly, then i should be tough enough to resist food when i'm with him, LOL!

ok, done rambling.

Alicia, I think you definately shouldnt feel insecure about going to the gym. I mean, people are there to get into shape and we all have the same goal. Plus, I think the gym is a good idea because itll motivate you by you seeing some of the people there that are acually in good shape ( BTW, I saw your pic in your profile and youre not in bad shape at all!).

You can eat good amounts of fruits and Veggies and its ok because it's not the processed sugar type of crap.

If youre thinking about getting a gym membership, I can create a workout for you based on the equiptments that they have there. If not...I can create one that you can use just your bodyweight. Let me know and give me a few days.

Tip of the day: If you take in (for example) 1500 calories a day. In order to lose weight....you would need to bun off more than 1500 cal. If you burn the equal amount of calories you take in...your body will not change.

Heres a calorie calculator to help you : Calorie Calculator - Daily Caloric Needs

Ps- Since it was my Bday ( I turned the Big 28 now lol)yesturday...I stuffed my face at this japanese Izakaya place and I also had like 4 slices of cake!!

PPS- Looking at Susie makes me feel fat!! lol

oh my god guys... so i'm sore. as in like...can barely walk sore.

it's not really all my fault. I went to the gym last week and thought that since my legs are generally strong, they wouldn't be too sore. Well I was wrong and on Saturday i coudn't move very much. Haha. Oh but that's not the worst part. On Sunday I went snowboarding ALL DAY (it was BEAUTIFUL out). I shredded a little harder than usual and really, on Monday...I was a wreck. Well..i AM a wreck now!! My calves feel like they are going to peel off, my legs can go more than a few inches apart, haha...terrible.

so i'm taking a break - i need to. the body needs to recover.

i weighed myself this morning and i was 117! woot!

That was a good note to make...I need to burn off MORE than what I intake in order to lose...okay! I am five two and I probably weigh 130, five are with my breast. I want to get down to 115 or 120. But I cant lose alot of weight, just in my waist. (I have love handles.) My husband wants me to keep my but and my breast. He doesnt even want me to lose any weight because he likes me thick...But how embarrassing when I saw a friend this weekend and they told me that I was gaining weight!
Uuugh so now I am so focused!
Okay I am too lazy to go to the gym...but I have a jump rope and walking shoes...what can I do at home? I am thinking about buying a ten speed to ride around my neighborhood and the stand so that I can ride indoors on the day it rains...
Help me out Guy.

Well thanks a lot for your time...really. I need to lose these few extra pounds to feel better about myself. I was doing so well a few days ago and I saw 133.5 on the scale. Well my boyfriend and I have been cooking up some really good food and we went out to lunch AND dinner the other day!!! So now I'm back up to 135 and I'm so depressed...like, really depressed. It felt so good seeing the scale go down when i weighed myself the other morning.

I honestly really don't feel comfortable going to the gym. But i have acess to a treadmill everyday and my boyfriends boflex like almost every other day, so i will be using those. So when you get a chance, if you could give me a workout routine to follow that will most importanly help me burn the fat and also will tone me up (i don't want to gain lots of muscle mass), then that would be awesome.

I'd really like to lose 10 pounds by the end of this month. I know that is a lot to strive for, but i think if i work my ass off it is realistic. And I'm ready to start exercising...

Thanks GUY!!!

p.s. - i would have guessed you were like 21/22 from your pic

i used to take SlimQuik...it didn't make me jittery but at the same time I didn't notice a difference. so i think it's just a money pit really - you're better off taking a daily vitamin instead of a weight loss pill.

also - i just want you ladies to know - the first time that'll go will probably be your breasts. i think i've seen twice someone say "10 lbs/5 lbs are really just my boobs, they don't count" but sweeties - those will be the first to go. everytime i've dropped pounds fast, i've seen the boobs disappear. however - i just got back on the pill and so they MIGHT hold up this time around. haha. it's been from an A to a B ...back and forth.

does anyone watch The Biggest Loser??! Oh my gosh...tonight's episode is emotional. But really, it's so inspiring!!!
