Re: Weight Loss Journal
::sigh:: I drink soda because I want the caffeine... even though I know its not good for me. I can't stand coffee and tea though. I have this uncontrollable gag reflex if I try to drink it.

Re: Weight Loss Journal
am i too late to start
I don't really have a set goal weight, or any amount I want to loose. I just want to get toned. (i guess no more mcd's fries ).
so it's off to the gym for me!
So far I'm off to a horrible start: Today I had 6 saltine wheat crackers and a pickle wrapped in cheese.

Re: Weight Loss Journal
Well yesterday I left work and went to the gym to run 2 miles, cycle for 4 miles and then did a thighs & butt strength training circuit.
immediately after the gym i was starving so i went to Quizno's and got the veggie sandwich on wheat bread in the regular size (minus the double cheese...FAT). i brought it home to have a big glass of water with it (opted out of soda and chips...that's the pitfall for most).
I think today I'll take the workout day off - when I start a workout plan I usually like to alternate every other day until my body gets used to it. getting sore muscles is a good thing but to work out on top of sore muscles can be damaging.
this morning i woke up late because boyfriend and i had a fight last night. i was cranky but it's all good this morning. we spent the night in separate bedrooms and just cooled off.
i got my typical coffee w/ splenda and skim milk. i'm eating my cinnamon Weight Control oatmeal. I went to the market before work and picked up:
- banana
- apple
- acai drink (it's better antioxidants than even pomegranate)
- black olive hummus
- whole wheat pita bread
- lean cuisine ravioli and veggies (only 290 calories)
- peeps... oh come on now... it's PEEPS!!! 2 for $1 sale too!!! i allow myself a little "treat" at 5pm or when i get stressed but like my chocolate covered jellies - no more than 100 calories.
i'm doing okay so far. i did notice however - i go to Planet Fitness gym. I'm not sure if anyone here knows of it - it's a chain - but it's pretty awful. I used to go to LA Fitness which i LOVED but of course, that was in the posh suburbs of my former long island residence. now that i live in crapsville Vermont, i have no other choice. anyway - they are all about this "judgement free zone" thing. so much so that i noticed - THEY REMOVED THE SCALES! there is not a single scale in that entire place. so today i'm going to have to go out and buy a scale to monitor my weight because...they don't have one. i find that ridiculous.

for real... i agree with you!! my mom's friend does this - and she's like 300 pounds!!! it drives both me and my mom crazy.
i grew up in a household where both my mom and grandma were always on a diet. they are BEAUTIFUL women (grandma used to be a professional model) and have never been overweight - they just are extremely conscious of it.
so growing up i never had soda, sugary juice, candy...everything was low-fat (which later on...everyone all learned it's not the fat but the calories to watch for primarily). i think it's pretty easy for me to just ignore that kind of stuff and not need a substitute because i never was used to it. i think i really like seltzer water (the naturally flavored kind) but that's about it...

Re: Weight Loss Journal
oh weight! its a very touchy subject for me. I have been very good and lots of weight, and I mean lots.
It all started with my first pregnancy, lots of complcations, had hormones and trigger shots, my size went from a Uk size 10 to 14, YES! it does not stop there, the pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage, I was so depressed and wanted to try again, 1 year of hormonal pills, my size went up to 14-16. Got pregnant became an 18, lost the pregnancy and was shattered. Its been 2 years now and I am back down to 12-14, and still working on it.
I am a pilates fan! I eat everything I crave but limit my calories for the day. My Gyn actually told me to go off chicken and that helped my weightloss a lot.

Re: Weight Loss Journal
Alright, today:
Breakfast: Still nothing, I'll try tomorrow
Lunch: Turkey Sandwich w/o condiments and Sunchips (are those okay for you?)
Dinner: Lean Cuisine
Exercise: I had class today and then I immediately had to go to work. Does running up the huge 3 flights of stairs count? I really wish I had a better schedule, its so hard to find time to work out.

Re: Weight Loss Journal
well i bought a scale last night! it measured your weight, body fat, water weight and bone mass. fancy... so i actually discovered that i weigh 118lbs.
i didn't work out yesterday, and was going to go snowboarding this morning but we woke up late so i'll be doing that all day tomorrow - then i have to go back to the mountain on monday for an event so that'll be a good catch-up workout.
i didn't eat yet... but we are going to get brunch so that might be bad...

Jennifer, I love wrapping a pickle in cream cheese and corned beef. Sounds gross but is so awesome.

Re: Weight Loss Journal
Breakfast was a hamburger with no bread, large ice tea. And then dinner was lots of Mexican food from my favorite place in the whole world. Ironically I didn't eat too much and feel gross.
Excercise was walking around Sea World for 8 hours without sitting down.
