Okay... so seriously, what can I do to help myself get back on track? Should I see a councilor or something? I think I need more help than what my own willpower can provide at this point.

If you think a counselor would help...then maybe? If you would be up for it. I mean, it's worth a shot!!

Re: Weight Loss Journal
Well I have been pretty depressed these last couple of months. I know what I am doing is not good for me, but depression does funny things to your way of thinking. I guess I want to lose some weight, but I'm really more concerned with my overall health. I just want to be more healthy and yet I don't have the motivation to do so. I'm actually kind of worried because I had to do a mandatory blood test at school for my health class. What if the results come back and my cholesterol is high or something?

Re: Weight Loss Journal
You may want to also consider marriage counseling of some kind. It's not really good for the health of your marriage that the only time you have a conversation is while you're eating out. And you should definitely consider seeing a financial planner to help you end the spend-while-you-have-the-money cycle, my uncle and his fiancee do that, and it has brought them nothing but grief. I think you would benefit a lot from counseling, because (and this is just a guess) it sounds to me like there's an underlying reason why food brings you temporary satisfaction. When you where a child where you rewarded with food? If so that may be why.

It's not like I snack a lot between meals either. I just eat a lot of bad stuff during both lunch and dinner.

Re: Weight Loss Journal
So are you guys going to help me? I don't know where to start and it seems I don't have a clue about how many calories I am actually supposed to be eating. We were always taught in school that the standard diet was 2,000 calories a day. But when I was attempting this before, it seems as though I wasn't making any progress at all. I added it up and I was probably eating around 1,800 calories a day. And then I was exercising for 45-60 minutes 5 or 6 times a week. I can't run very well though because of my knees and all we have is a treadmill. So I would power walk instead. So what was I doing wrong? I think I need to consume less calories, but I have no clue how much it should be. Is it different for each person? How do I figure this out?

I am 5'4", and go between 110-115 pounds depending on the time of the month...KWIM? Anyway, if I eat more than 1200 calories a day, I am up to 120-125 in no time. Some people say that is not enough, but for me even with exercise the pounds pack on so fast. I do think it is different for everyone. Some people just do a solid week of only 1000 cal. a day to "jump start" thier bodies. But a lot of nutritionists say that is not good for you and you will go in starvation mode...personally never happened to me!!LOL Make sure you count everything though.....creamer in coffee, tic-tacs.....it all adds up!!!

Hello I can help! Tredmills are bad they make your knees worse.. it's best to exercise outside... you lose more calories.... you also need to change up your exercise routine. Can't jsut always walk.. cuz your body gets use to it. Get exercise tapes as well..those help.

I would try pilates...they hurt the first few days...but they can be fun!! I would just try to change things up every few days so that way you don't get bored.
Maybe take your dogs for a walk...& have Mr. bRs go!

We take out dog for a walk, err... "carry", almost every day. Mr. BRS always comes with, but for some reason I always have to do the carrying.
