Default Ever have plastic surgery?

Well I've "come out of the closet" on my surgery. When I was younger everyone made fun of me bc I had a pointy nose. I don't know if it was as bad as I thought it was but it was awkward (could have also been the braces/zits/glasses all at once). I'm also a Jewish girl...you know how it is.

My mom is very loving and understanding. She's practical too (so please don't think of her as that typical bow-down type wussy mom). She was very resistant for a while but she realized it was affecting me severely. I felt awful about myself and would cry constantly. Also later on I was told that many people in my family received plastic surgery and they don't find it to be a bad thing at all.

Well at about 15/16 my mom took me to a plastic surgeon with a BEAUTIFUL office right across from Central Park. Dr. Sachs (www.michaelevansachs.com). First let me say - I AM NOT RECOMMENDING HIM. Instead...I am WARNING you all. To skip ahead a bit - we sued him for malpractice (as we later discovered MANY other did).

I got my nose job from Dr. Sachs only to find out a month later that he screwed up and my nose actually collapsed. Yep... collapsed.

We sued him and won. I got a new car. I also then went to NYU where I had another wonderful doctor re-construct my nose and now while it's "adorable" most people say... I still feel a bit self-conscious. After all that pain and money - was it worth it? Not sure really... I've been complimented on my nose many times but I've also had some people totally figure it out and say "you definitely got a nose job, that's not real". hahaha...

Anyway this got sparked by seeing Ashley Tisdale's nose job. I was wondering if anyone here got plastic surgery and/or if you are looking into it.

I don't think this experience scared me from it. I mean I would never get a boob job but maybe later in life a face-lift or something. Also - I'm not shy of Botox either!! :)

That was an awful experience, susie...

Never had plastic surgery and I don't think I ever will. I'm not really too particular about my looks ever since I was young. I mean, if people found me pretty, then it's a simple "Thanks." If they call me ugly, lol I don't really care.

Uhm honestly it was like 8 years ago (wow time goes by fast) so I can't even remember. The collapse actually wasn't bad - I didn't notice it until the swelling went down. I think MAYBE it was about 2-3 months after the first surgery that I got the second.

You can see in the photo (I'm in the black in the middle...) that my nose is pretty itty bitty now. Haha. I told my boyfriend the other night that I didn't like it bc it was too small but he was like "you're crazy...even my ex girlfriend said you had the cutest nose ever". BTW - that photo... it's a personal joke between me and my friends. We love to do the "dear in headlights" look...and yes I'm aware that's not a dear. :)

I am very well aware though that I would consider myself to have a disorder regarding how I see myself. I've fought anorexia a few years back and even recently fell back into the trap. It's unhealthy but I'm getting stronger I think. I'm looking to go to counseling this year.

Susie you have the cutest nose ever!! Mud is right, you look healthy and happy in that pic

I haven't had anything done, but I know I will get some sort of cosmetic surgery when I'm older. I was actually thinking about changing career paths and becoming a plastic surgeon, but nah it's not for me .

hahaha i could NEVER be a plastic surgeon... blood and bones and stuff grosses me out so bad. i can barely look at someone else's paper cut!!!

Susie, On closer inspection of your nose...I would have to agree with the rest of the ladies here and agree that your nose is very cute indeed.

I had hated my nose for the longest time... its kinda big, or at least I think it is. Plus I have a bump in it, it doesn't go straight down. A girl I work with had her nose "fixed" and I thought, oh cool! Then a few months later, her bump reappeared in her nose. I guess it just bent back down after awhile and it looked like it did before her surgery. She also said it sucked because she couldn't smell anything for months... and she had two black eyes from it. Anyways, the more I think about it... the less I want to change my nose. My hairstylist always says my face is so perfect and she can do anything with my hair and it will look good. So I guess I should just be happy with my bump and know that not everyone is perfect.

Oh... I do wish I could get my teeth whiter though. I've tried everything and nothing works... and the stuff the dentist gives you with the bleach and tray... OMG hurts my teeth like hell!
