Watching hitman with the hubby ... I wanted to see I now pronounce you chuck and larry but I lost paper scissors rocks

Okay, finished with my doggie's hair. She's such a cutie!

I feel really bad though because she's been having skin problems lately. The vet keeps insisting that its allergies and/or dry skin... but it just keeps getting worse. She has scabs on her front legs from her chewing and her skin was just so flaky and gross when I was shaving her.

We stopped at the pet store to pick up some medicated shampoo/conditioner. Perhaps this will help.

We just need to give her a bath now and she should be good to go!

Hey Nashville - See, I'm saving money by cutting my own doggie's hair! LOL!

animals are not human so I don't believe in treating them that way unless u can really afford it so I applaud you on not spending money to primp your dog

My last dog was a rat terrier and she was so nervous I almost had to have her put on doggie Xanax... She now lives with my mom who has the time to nurture her... The vet said she didnt get enough attention and I was like... She's a DOG!!! Not a child

No more animals for me.

Actually, I never really liked it when the groomers made her have poofs everywhere.

I was always like, just shave it all off! LOL!
We used to take her to Petco to have her groomed, but then we found out that they weren't treating her very nicely there. The groomers complained because she was snapping at them... well, if you guys weren't hurting her then she won't be snapping. Duh! ::sigh:: So we took her to this private boarding kennel that also did grooming. They were very nice there and they actually took her out to let her go to the bathroom (something they never did at Petco). Unfortunately it was $60 plus a tip at this place. So my husband decided to buy one of the fancy dog clipper sets and it paid for itself within the first couple of times we cut her hair ourselves. And I might add... I think I do a pretty good job. No poofs or puffs, just a nice shave with a little bit of fur left around her face.

what kind is she? i like schnauzers and yorkies. The rat terrier thing was because I liked wishbone but she was toooo hyper (wishbone is not a rat terrier, but something similar but the rat terrier was only $40 where the wishbone dog was $150)

I wouldn't mind having an animal if I could pay enough attention to it but I get busy sometimes...

Thanks! She's my baby! Unfortunately, she'd probably freak out in one of those since she's afraid of dog crates. Hehe... plus she weighs 16 lbs, so that probably wouldn't be too comfortable to carry.

When I moved my dog from the South up to my mom in Chicago, I remember putting her in one of those hard dog crate things. She only weighed like 13 pounds, but she was really leggy so she couldn't stand up completely in the box, but I had to carry ehr with me so she just had to deal with it (Vet gave us some doggie Xanax to knock her out, but it didn't work as planned). I was in the Atlanta airport sitting in the hall (it was Thanksgiving weekend and I had a 4 hour layover and my flight was delayed) and this toddler wandered up to me and said "Puppy" which I thought was sweet and then my dog snapped at her. and the toddler started crying and ran to her mom who gave me a dirty look.

I will never again put a dog in a dog carrier and carry it with me. I had to take her outside when I first landed, and it took 3 people to get her back in the crate because she would spread her legs out to make it so you couldn't put her in the crate...it was a riot.

When she finally made it up north, she wouldn't look at me the whole time I was there. Mom said that after I left, though, she had some sort of weird doggie remorse where she would go and sit by the window and wimper. Now, when I visit and see her she follows me everywhere. What a weird dog.
