I think the Carolina Herrara top would look great tucked into high-waisted pants! It would look cute if you paired the look with a wedding-ish hair piece!

You know what would be a good idea? You could go to Saks or something and try on some pieces and then snap some pics in the fitting room. That way we can all get a general idea of how what you're wanting will look on you!

I'll TOTALLY do that! The good thing about not getting a dress is that I don't have to get it months in advance, I can take my time and find something that I really really like!

My sister said she would do some research and find some places around town that would be good, and I like these two:
RMA :: Main Street Station :: Rental INformation
This is the Richmond train station. It's right in downtown Richmond. It's historic, and they don't use it anymore for the main station for trains, it's more limited. They have a small room upstairs that might be cool. The pro of this is that it's indoors, so I don't have to worry about Richmond summer weather (hot, humid, risk of thunderstorms). It would also make for some cool pictures.

    Wedding Ceremony Sites
This is on the Swift Creek Reservoir which is near our parent's houses, and they have like 5 different sites to choose from. I like this one below. I think it would be cool if our family stood in a circle around us (as long as no one falls in, lol)

I e-mailed both places to see if they had availability and to see if my parents could go check out the spaces this weekend. I'm honestly kind of in love with the idea of getting married at the train station!

So my parents are going to check out the train station this weekend, so hopefully they like it. I think my mom was going to call the other place since I haven't heard anything back, and see if she and my dad can go see the different ceremony sites they offer.

The train station only has 8:30am to 12pm available for July 16th, so we may have to do a morning ceremony, which honestly is fine with me. So I guess I'll just see what my parents think about the space and go from there.

Ok so one day Matt and I, and our friend Paul, were walking the High Line, and I saw this billboard for Stella Artois. There's a girl on the poster and I thought her hair looked really simple and pretty. I think this is how I want to wear my hair:

My friend Kylene in my hair dresser in Richmond, and I've know her forever, so she's going to do my hair. She also suggested someone from her salon to do my makeup, she does like photoshoots or something, so those two things are taken care of!

Well since we decided to do something so small, and Matt didn't think waiting a year to get married seemed like a good idea, we're just going to do it in July. We don't really need a whole lot of stuff, like if we were doing a big thing, so basically just need a place and an officiant. I have a hairdresser already and a friend for photography, and my sister's florist, so there's really not much to do.

I'm glad Matt and I are almost always on the same page, because it makes things a lot easier. We both wanted simple and small.

So we have a ton of things done already, which was easy because I knew people to do my hair, makeup, photography, and music for the ceremony.

    Invitations, check
    Hair, check
    Makeup, check
    Music, check
    Photographer, check
    Ceremony site, check
    Restaurant for dinner, check
    Bakery for cake, tentative
Florist, tentative, but I know I want Ranunculus'

    Now, for the other things:
Officiant - still looking. It's hard because we don't live there, and I don't know anyone who could marry us
Dress - dress search has literally been the most annoying thing about wedding planning. I decided that I need to wear a dress, no matter how much I would love to just wear pants, but it's a wedding and I'm sure when I look back in 10 years I'll say, WTF was I thinking. I may even end up getting a long dress, which I really didn't want to do. But I think it was more of the "wedding dress" long dress that I was opposed to. I might have found a couple that weren't too bad, just from sites like Sak's and Nordstrom.
