Everything is going beautifully! We are so blessed!

We won't be adopting or having another child after Scarlett because my husband and I have decided that 3 is enough! Between all the sports and school activities, I'm tired. LOL And we haven't even started with Scarlett yet.

So I am going to take the extra time with S, making sure I relish every minute with her. Everything is a "first" for her. This has been so much fun for us and I have some great footage of her trying ice cream for the first time, putting on a dress for the first time and so on. She loves the animals and gives them kisses all the time. Whenever I take her into bed for her nap, the cats all pile in and snuggle up around her. She loves it!

Aw Maevey it sounds so wonderful! She is such a cutie! Is she having any difficulties speaking English and understand things? I can't imagine how different things must be for her.

She didn't really speak anything when we first started with her. The orphanage said she was "anti-social" and didn't talk. From the time we got her back to the hotel room, she has chattered non-stop. I guess she just didn't have anything to say to them. LOL
She is so smart. She is picking up words left and right and I use the Google translator with her (the voice activated one) when I need to tell her something important. But she is understanding so much, so quickly. And she loves to eat and drink new things, so that has been fun. We do eat a lot of Asian food, but she loves pasta and hamburgers and just about anything else I give her. She is not picky and always has a smile on her face.

Zombie, the hair was a make shift cut. It was really bad when we got her, so between my mom and myself we cut it a little at a time until it started to look good. I love the bob on her. I need to take her to a hairdresser here for a real cut, but I wanted to wait a little bit longer so she wouldn't be scared.

^^ I love that cut!! We kept Lauren in in a little bob with bangs, until she was in 2nd or 3rd grade(?) then she decided that she wanted long hair. While we were in Vegas (1/22/11) she decided to get bangs again, they totally remind me of when she was a little girl.

I'm happy to hear that things are going so well and that she is adjusting fine. It must be super exciting!

Ya know, If you wanted to adopt a lil asian kid...You couldve adopted me. It wouldve been much easier! I already speak english, Kinda well verse in handbags (for a guy anyways), I can shower by myself, Can kinda make my own bed without help, and I think I would look cute in a bob cut (if that's what youre into...i wouldnt object).

LOL! That's so sweet that she opened right up to you. You'll be learning Mandarin a little at a time, which is so nice too! Congratulations, very nice story.

Update: She is doing great! She is acting like a typical 3 year old, wanting to do everything herself and loves to be held and cuddled. She gets along beautifully with her brother and sister and asks me all day long with May is going to be home. She adores her sister! She is still shy around outside people, but I'm okay with that. She is learning English so quickly and asks me all day long what things are and then repeats that word. Very cute.

How ironic that back in March I said we were done....

I guess much like childbirth the further you get from it the funner it seems... LOL

So we are going back. Scarlett will have an older sister (by 10 months) some time in January or February.

I've been purging the house like mad, so the nesting has officially begun.

Aw that's so awesome! So you've already found her and she'll be ready to come home with you in like 6 months, that's so exciting! Is she from the same town as Scarlett? Or just the same orphanage? Are your son and other daughter excited to have a fourth sibling?

She's from another province. So we'll be able to see more of China when we go back. :)
The kids are really excited! Not sure how Scarlett is going to feel though...
