Thread: UPS Train Derailments?

Has anyone gotten this exception before with their UPS tracking? My RM Mini Matinee was supposed to arrive today but just last night, I got two train derailments on 5p and 9p PST. I got so irritated. I contacted LB and they gave me a rescheduled delivery date of tomorrow. I'm not even sure if I could trust that. I just pray my poor baby will get here safely.

Here is my tracking info. I hope my package is OK.

I contacted UPS and got a very sweet lady, she told me to wait for the next update yadda yadda and they haven't updated for today. So if LB's date is correct, I should receive the package either by Friday or Monday.

Here is Caitie's (LB) response:

Good Morning (my name),

We apologize for the shipping delay! Unfortunately once a package is picked up by UPS we can only track the package for you. I contacted UPS and they let me know the transport train was in a derailment accident last night causing a delay in shipping. The updated delivery date for this package is now Thursday 2/25. Again, I apologize for the shipping delay. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. I hope you have a wonderful afternoon!

I'm praying my MM will arrive safe and sound. If it comes to me all beat up and burnt I'm going to get so angry. Crossing my fingers. I'll just sit on the corner there and weep until Friday.

Hopefully no one was hurt in that derailment. Also, derailment does not mean all the packages on board are crushed to pulp. I am sure your bag will arrive safe and sound. Good Luck!

That's crazy! I see that it says "train derailment" on there twice I wonder why that is? There's no way it derailed twice, haha.

I hate when you're waiting for something and there's a delay, or it's just taking forever. I hope it comes soon!!

thank you so much everyone! I'm praying it comes safe too. I feel at ease now thanks to you. <3 The weather today was beautiful (yesterday was a nasty rainstorm, so I guess it made the tracks slippery?) so it looks like UPS should have no problems sending that Train to me now... I hope. UPS updated around the afternoon to Location Scan, hopefully it stays that way until it's ready to move on up.

I don't understand why there's two derailments either, when I saw the Arrival Scan I got so excited, but I had my hopes up for nothing... stupid 2nd.. Derailment. *facedesk*

I will post again once my bag arrives, assuming she's still in one piece and not half-burnt to crisp. Again thank you! You guys are the bestest!

Edit: I found this article on the Train Derailment coming from Central CA. I wonder if this is what caused the accident... LA Times.

Whatever it is, I hope everyone is safe and that the packages haven't been totally busted. I feel sorry for those who had to evacuate though.
