I agree with ZG.. everything happens for a reason. I'm sure it's going to be so hard, but honestly it will only make your relationship that much stronger! We're always here to chat anyways!

You're not alone lilstrlett, I've been dealing with this for 2 years. DF travels, extensively, his job. He's in Minnesota right now. He'll be gone anywhere from a week to a few months. It's hardest at the beginning, after you get a routine down and get used to being alone it gets much easier. DF's company is very gracious and offers to fly me to him on his extended travels, so I know if it gets to be too much I always have that option. We have it good, he makes excellent money and it really makes the time spent together that much more special, which I think makes up for his MIA status.

My solution to make the time fly by? Read, spend time with your girlfriends, start a new project and try to enjoy the time to yourself. That's what I do and when he returns I'm refreshed and I'm more than ready for him to be home. Hang in there, it'll be alright.

Not that the money matters, but the BF is making really god money, too. You're right, it really does help. Especially since we are young, it makes it easier to be making enough money where we don't have to worry about not being able to do things since all the money is going towards rent, food, and bills. It was like that when we were in our last year of college, so it's much easier now that we both have jobs.

I would have to say, my worst habit while he's gone is spending. I go a little nuts when he leaves, as in I head straight to the mall. It's not good. It's like I'm trying to fill the empty place next to me with make-up, lotions, clothes and crap. I need to start leaving my CC at home.

And I agree, as we've both gotten older and settled into good jobs, it is much easier. Of course we've become accustomed to our income now and can't afford anything less. Funny how that works.

Oh, I forgot, we did video chats in the beginning too. It was fun, we haven't done it in a while though. I make him bring me treasures from where ever he is, just something extra to look forward too.
