I would add a short conclusion paragraph. Just maybe summing up each paragraph with one sentence each. Or, if you don't have room for that, since it can only be one page long, maybe just end with one strong sentence stating why you are the perfect choice.

You mean things like I'm eager to learn, hard working, and dependable? And that I would be a valuable asset to the project?

If you will be working with others on projects, you may also want to mention "works well with others" type spiel and give a brief past example to illustrate that...

Yes, and also if you have one particular skill or asset you can bring to the project, or even what participating in the project will add to your education and future. Just something that will set you apart from the other applicants.

I've included on my one-page resume that I am comfortable working with others or on my own. Either way is fine with me.

I don't know if this is appropriate, but should I say something to the line of despite my limited research opportunities, I am such and such kind of person that would be a valuable addition to the team? Or should I not mention my downfalls at all. I guess if I don't mention it, then I really don't know how to start that final paragraph. I can't say "in conclusion". That would sound silly.

No, I wouldn't mention any of your shortcomings. I would just jump right in to stating your attributes. If you still think it sounds funny, you could start it with "In summary..."

Okay, what about saying something like I am proud of my accomplishments so far and look forward to future opportunities to broaden my skills?

Okay... I think I did it. I hope anyway. LOL! I think I need to take it to the career center to have someone look at it.

Hey BRS, I just saw this thread now -if you'd like to send me your statement, I can look it over and make suggestions, FWIW.

Really? That would be great. I already dropped it off at the career center at school. So when I get it back, maybe I can make some changes and then you can look at it.
