Haha bRs, goop! Funny! At this point I'll try anything.

She has really short hair, which she sheds a lot of. I just went onto the Paul Mitchell site and it looks like it's more for dogs with longer/prettier hair.

OMG Chewie is the same way! If someone even says the word "spray" he freaks out and runs away!! He will be in his bed asleep and you say "spray" and he will jump straight up! It is kind of funny!
For some reason he likes the PM oatmeal spray.

I don't use it on Mumsy, who has long hair, I use it on Chewie mainly for his dry skin.

My rottweiler had really dry skin and terrible allergies, until we switched his food. He's on a B.A.R.F. diet now and hasn't had any problems since we switched him a year ago. A lot of the allergies are triggered by what they're taking in, as well as what they're exposed to. Look into what kind of foods your feeding, if her kibble has primarily grains that may be it.

Sorry to hear about her allergies, I know it sucks! She is sooooo adorable though!

lil - Does that food have grain in it? Some dogs develop allergies to certain grains. Just a thought...

My dog is like that...if you run your fingers down his back and scratch him. He starts scratching with his one leg while standing, one side of his lip goes up, & he stretches out all at once. I think his skin is just sensitive. He also has long white fur and all pink skin. No allergies though.

I hope you can help Lake out. Poor thing...

We bought Benadryl and started giving it to her twice a day, which the vet said was fine because of her weight and size. That didn't seem to help.

Then we bought all-natural shampo with oatmeal that is supposed to soothe her skin. That didn't help either.

If you just lightly run your fingers over any spot on her back, she tenses up. If you start to scratch her anywhere, she starts to kick her leg like crazy. If we leave her in her crate, when we go to get her out she has scratches on her neck to the point where she has created a scab. We had her tested for Mange, but nothing came up in the test, so that's not the problem.

Since she's white and has pink skin, any scratch shows.

Does anyone know of anything that might help her feel more comfortable?
I'll bet she's allergic to her food. That was Cleo's issue.
Change to an all natural food and she should clear up. We use Wellness Simple Food Solutions or Royal Canin HYPOALLERGENIC HP 19, depending on what the store has in stock. You need to get a vet's prescription for it but once you have that prescription in the system, you can buy it whenever.
Or you can make her up a raw diet. This is what I do with my cats because they are all high maintenance.

What does hypoallergenic mean? I mean, does that mean it will make her less prone to allergies?

    I think so...

Hypoallergenic is a term coined by advertisers (based on the Greek prefix hypo meaning "below normal" or "slightly") and first used in a cosmetics campaign in 1953.[1] It is used to describe items (especially cosmetics and textiles) that cause or are claimed to cause fewer allergic reactions. Hypoallergenic pets still produce allergens, but because of their coat type or absence of fur or absence of a gene that produces a certain protein, typically produce fewer allergens than others of the same species. People with severe allergies and asthma may still be affected by a hypoallergenic pet.

It means that it is less likely to result in an allergic reaction in individuals that are typically prone to allergic reactions. Did that come out right? LOL!

Aw, poor baby. I don't really know ... this might sound ridiculous but if the allergy stuff didn't work, could it be like dry skin? This is going to sound extremely dumb, but is there any like moisturizers for dogs? I have no idea.
If love is the answer, what is the question?
