    Default Decisions Decisions

Am I the only one who hates making decisions? How about when you think you have something figured out, only to come accross a different option and totally have to re-think your plans? Like...I would like to get a cles but the Rose pochette looks delicious ... although the decision I am weighing is more important than that.

We planned on building a house this summer and moving in it this fall. It would be in MS ... and once you build and buy there you are pretty much there for a long time. When you sell, you are lucky to get what you have put in it. It's not a big deal because the job market for people like me is pretty good in the Memphis metro...plus I Can always drive an hour or so to Jackson, MS area if I had to. We have most the down payment saved up, and the location picked out and then...

We went to FL for christmas. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! I loved it. It was so nice and sunny and warm. Granted there are good and bad about living in certain places. Like Hurricanes...but we have tornadoes and ice storms here.

The housing market is in the crapper there...and you can get what used to be $300-400K homes for $200-250K...so...we were thinking...

I have one more year left of grad school (well a year and a half) which is exactly when my stepkid graduates from HS

I also have a steady job here and don't see any risk of getting laid off in the near future.

We found a house for a great bargain. And we are now thinking of buying the house and living in the apt one more year THEN moving when we are all out of school. My DH is laid off and can work with his brother if we move down there.

We also have some things in AR we need to keep an eye on, a couple little townhouses (nothing major - don't earn anything on them yet not for another 25 years when the mortgage is paid off) but I have a company that can manage those for a fee ...

IDK do you do what you know is safe or do you take a leap and do somethign you feel might make you happy.

I would do the latter. I made a risky decision by moving from Boston to Cali. and not even knowing anyone here. Even though it was/is tough...I would still do it all over again.

You just need to ask yourself...."If I do this, what's the worst that can happen??" Once you answer that question..then the next question would be " If this happen...what can I do to fix it". You would just need to know and accept the worst case scenario that can happen and think of a solution for that. Once you do that...you have nothing to worry about.

Ps- This advice also apply to you, Brs.

Worst that can happen? I have no job. But we do have other income than just my job granted not much (enough to maybe pay the mortgage and feed us) I have no health insurance (bad - DH has some health problems and is on prescriptions) and no dental insurance (bad - I have horrible teeth although they are sparkly white they tend to break ...)... but then I guess I could get a job even if the pay was crap

Plus we would live by DH's family...I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing...I like them but I am a private person, you know? I like to be alone.

I agree with GUY's choice. I think that some people don't take risks because they are afraid of all the "bad" things that can happen. Like you said, if you stay in MS you will be there for a long while. There's no better time than the present to do this. I would take the opportunity. I think a lot of people get too comfortable in their own lives and end up regretting it down the road. You need to be happy, it's worth it. Your job and everything else will wind up working itself out, even if it's rough in the beginning.

    Very funny Guy.

Nashville, if you like Florida and you have family there, then why not go? At least that way you'll have someone to mooch off of if things go down the toilet.

ok we found a beautiful house in a gated community. The houses around it sold for 350-425k and this is a foreclosure they are asking 215k...we started telling dhs bro we were thinking of moving and he acted all weird. We decided it might be more trouble than it's worth and so we will stay hereish...we have zero drama. His bro is one of those people that are cool with you as long as he is doing better than you and he acted weird jealous about the luxury house. It even has travertine tile and hardwood floors!!! Family drama sucks. That's why I moved 800 miles from my family!!

Yeah, I know what you mean. My family sucks too. And holiday gatherings? OMG, what a joke! Even my mom was making fun of me when I was talking about the genetics of blood types and why my brother could only be blood type A or O.
