Default I think I am crazy

Okay, so you might know that I had a tooth implant placed a few weeks ago. I keep having these recurring nightmares that a screw falls out of my head while I am talking and it's actually kept me up at night and I am super paranoid about the whole thing. The only positive to all this is I have lost 10 pounds since I had it done because I am terrified to eat anything other than oatmeal, yogurt, and milkshakes. I just think it looks redder than it did when I had it done...dh said that's because it is healing. I have NO PAIN I mean...it's been easier than having a root canal...the worst part of the whole experience was getting my wisdom teeth taken out. (The implant is up towards the front of my mouth. It's the last tooth you see in the corner of your mouth when you smile). Sooo...I think I am going to go back to the doctor today to have him look at it. I used the excuse of I needed my stitches snipped back ... so hopefully I will know if it looks okay. I mean, I am going to Florida in a week (one week from today!!!!!) so I just was scared it woudl get infected and he wouldn't want me to go...

I think I am going nuts.

You're not crazy. I am that way too. When my DH gave me my engagement ring, I was constantly obsessed with the diamond falling out. I would dream about. I thought I was going nuts too. I am sure everything is all right. Relax and have fun in Florida next week.

Done...I think...Until I find something that catches my eye

Youre just paranoid. not crazy. Once the dentist double check it for you...Im sure it'll be nothing and you can go back to sleeping and stuffing your face. =)

I agree that you sound paranoid, not crazy, maybe a bit obsessive. Ironically, the more we do that, the more likely it is that the thing we're trying to avoid will happen.

After having my first child via C section, I worried that the incision would pop open and my intestines would fall out, I think my hormones were out of whack.
Kind of off topic I know, but the doctor did reassure me and I'm sure the dentist will do the same for you.

My friend had a tooth implant where his tooth should have been (there wasn't enough space for the tooth to come in) - it doesn't move at all and he's even had it hit with something and nothing happened. I'm sure it's fine!

Did he hit it while it was healing? I had to have a bone graft in the tooth socket when they placed the implant since I had a root canal there I had some bone loss because what a root canal does is "kill" your tooth. You can't feel anything anymore because that nerve is removed, and when they remove the nerve the blood flow to that tooth stops as well. They said in the few months following the surgery it is possible to dislodge the graft or for an infection to do something yadda yadda...

I think it's actually stronger than your real tooth after it's done healing.

BUT!! Everything is fine. The stitches were making it red so they took them out and every day it's going away little by little so it's fine. It feels better too to have the stitchews out...

    Sorry for being such a
