    Hello,
Best site for DIAMONDS is pricescope....
Diamond Prices: Diamond Jewelry Facts, Diamond Tools and Consumer Reports Forum

They have a few preferred sellers (who appear to be honest)....
I have not dealt with them.... but many positive reviews.....

I'm going to have to check those sites out. My DH picked my engagement ring out all by himself, and when he gave it to me his exact words were "If it's not big enough, we can take it back and get a bigger one." I thought it was totally sweet of him to say that, but I wanted the diamond because it's what HE picked out for me. He bought me a .75 carat diamond- D color. It's beautiful, and I'd never sell it just because it symbolizes our marriage. However, I'm not too crazy about diamonds other than engagement rings because of the fast that they do lose their value so much.

Any idea if, let's say, a D colored diamond will hold it's value better than an I? I was reading this thread and was wondering...

    Hello,
D is an excellent stone.... however it depends on the other Cs

A "D" stone will always be worth more than an "I" stone if the other factors are the same.....
HOWEVER it would have cost alot more....

0.75 is a good size.... especially for a D color.....

Some people prefer a lesser color but a bigger size.... that is the choice we all make....

I J stone certainly have a warmth to them.... whilst a D has a very nice sparkle...

WHAT IS BEST ...? well it depends on many factors.....

    Personally my rules are simple...
    1) must be J or better
    2) must be SI2 or better
    3) prefer ROUND BRILLIANT CUT (unless a very good price saving)
    4) prefer over 0.4 ct .... (less than 0.4 is getting too small)

    Kind regards,

I'm not exactly sure what color rating my diamond is, but I think it's a pretty good one. Hmm... I should look it up in the paperwork. I know it's an SI1 though. Anyways, mine is 0.8 ct and it is what is referred to the "perfect" cut. It sparkles... A LOT. People are always telling me what I rock I have. But I always thought a "rock" was something over 2 ct. LOL!

bRs, that's not a bad size at allWe're diamond twins!! I think it depends on the size of your finger as well. My engagement ring was 'D', VVS1, 0.8 with hearts a fire cut, but everyone thought it was at least 1.25 carat or more as I am petite and have tiny fingers
One of the few benefits of being small I guess, you can save money by buying smaller diamonds!
