Hi! What a neat community to have stumbled upon.
I'm Caroline, a 30-something stay-at-home mom who for the first time has a couple hundred dollars to spend on a purse. I was searching on the net and came across this site, and soon realized that I know nothing about handbags!

I've carried a bag since I was 11 or so, and always bought 4-6 "$60 and under" bags a year until I had kids (funny how that dries up your fun money.)
Anyway, I'd been thinking about a Coach (what newbie doesn't?) and I still think the less expensive ones are a good buy, but I'm not sure that's what I want anymore. I also have always had this set of "requirements" I want a bag to have--I'm kind of picky. But after looking on Bag Bliss and reading your comments here, I might branch out a bit and go a bit bigger than normal.
What do you think of this one?
Francesco Biasca Star Crazy 3 Zip Top Bucket

It's at Zappos for $305. I love the Red--it's not really summery, but I think it could work year round, do you? I can't find it in the beige that the original Star Crazy came in. If I put all my little things, like cosmetics, in small bags inside, I could avoid losing everything in it, I think. I just don't want it to be too heavy.
Also--can you buy Francesco Biasia anywhere other than on the internet? I'm going to Seattle in 2 weeks, I could look for a bag there if I knew where to shop. Any suggestions? The Seattle Premium Outlets are a given.
Hope I haven't bored you silly. I've got a thread on the Shopping forum about my search for a great $300ish bag. If you have any suggestions, let me know!
Thanks for letting me hang out!
Caroline
