    Hi again!

Here is what happened today in the world of real and "unreal". I went to the Louis Vuitton local retail store and really looked over the REAL thing. I compared it to the very specific photos on the re seller's site. There were just enough discrepancies to prove to me, the one I had ordered was not authentic. LV Never puts plastic coverings on any of their feet on their bags, some bags NOW do not have date codes, and the inside textile color should be the SAME as the authentic one in the store. So even though I CANNOT CONFIRM THAT THE WEBSITE HAD MISTAKENLY PURCHASED A COPY FROM ITS CONSIGNOR, for me, the differences were enough to convince me to cancel my order. They did refund my charge quickly. I am going back to the LV store tomorrow to buy the REAL bag! The advice I have for anyone looking to buy a previously owned item, is to check it out THOROUGHLY from top to bottom and then compare.

Thank you for being there for me!

It doesn't look like anyone else responded since yesterday. I know lilstrlett has owned Vernis stuff before.

What color was the lining in the store? I wouldn't say that LV doesn't use plastic film. They actually do use plastic film on some hardware and plastic wrap on the handles. It is typically removed though before pieces are put out on the selling floor.

In the store, they told me that the plastic was never used on the feet of this particular bag (yes, I just removed some protective plastic from a key holder/ card holder that I purchased 5 months ago...didn't realize it was on!)

The color inside "their" bag was purple...the color in the store was EXACTLY the same color as the vernis leather.

Also, the bag pull was not "featured" in their photo...and it was really beautiful on the real thing. AND the real deal did not have NOR ever had a datecode. So I am going to go to the store and KNOW that i am buying a great product.

I have a Bleu Nuit Vernis Alma MM, purchased from Louis Vuitton, and it does have a datecode and did have plastic on it as well. My SA removed most of the plastic and coatings since she brought the bag out from the back of the store. My Eugenie wallet had to have the zipper pull replaced and it came to me with the same blue plastic covering that is on the bottom of the bag in question.
As far as the lining, the pics might now show the true color?
I don't see any reason to doubt the bag at Malleries but I would ask for more photos before purchasing. It is good that you were able to cancel the order especially since you had your doubts.
IMO it is way more fun to purchase from the LV store!!

Can't wait to see your reveal photos!

As far as I know, there should be a date code. Some Vernis pieces have it stamped into the fabric lining (inside a pocket), which is difficult to see sometimes.
This is not the same style, but it has a good picture of what I'm talking about (scroll down to the bottom).

I have purchased several bags from Malleries and never had a problem.
