When do you all plan on decorating??

I want to buy some Christmas lights to put in my living room windows, stockings, and more ornaments.

Every year i do a themed Christmas tree...generally it is colors. But this year my tree is going to be all about special memories and ornaments associated with it. I am so excited. I have totes full of stuff waiting.

For the first time in about 7 years we will be staying at home for Thanksgiving, b'coz my DH wants to buy a 55" LCD tv...apparently the 42" is not big enough

I plan to decorate the tree with my boys the day after Thanksgiving

I just realized this is my 3,500th post...woohooo!!!!!

We haven't really decorated in years. It's hard to get in the mood for Christmas when your husband hasn't gotten you anything for a very long time. Mr BRS did pull the tree out last year for some reason. I was busy getting ready to leave the country and for some reason Mr BRS was feeling festive. There was only one gift sitting under the tree... a rather large package for Mr BRS.

^^^ I would like to, but he doesn't have any money so it won't do me any good.

Hmm... I don't know if it would be worth decorating this year or not. We aren't doing anything with my family since my dad has to work. We are supposed to go over to my in-laws house x-mas eve and then to Mr BRS's aunt's house for x-mas day. Do you think I could convince Mr BRS to stay home? Maybe I could cook something, just the two of us? Wait, I'm a terrible cook. He wouldn't go for that! LOL!

Yeah, so I ran my idea by Mr BRS and he gave me this weird look and then asked me WHY. :sigh: I guess that means I'll get a double dose of his family this year. His cousin had better not make comments about my choice of major again and saying I will only top out at X amount of dollars in my future career. Oh... and then she'll start asking us why we don't have any kids yet. Okay, that's it, I'm not going!

So, any ideas for a Christmas celebration for two?

    Smack him, too!!!!!

Hm...for 2..... Maybe a nice walk out in the snow at a nice park (if you don't mind freezing), making dinner TOGETHER (Who cares if it isn't the best? Atleast you're spending quality time together, KWIM?), then exchanging a gift?

I like Jess's idea...cook a nice dinner together. I am not a fan of freezing , s Io suggest watching a movie together after dinner.

I am flying over to my parents in the south to celebrate christmas, and before that I will make a loooot of ginger cookies and lucia buns!

I love holidays, and I love giving and getting presents. I am already shopping like a crazy woman to make everbody happy, but most important of course is the food and the family! Quality time, that's what christmas is all about for me, we're usually around 30 of my relatives christmas eve so its party all night long, haha.

As for a Christmas for two, I guess I'll have to see what I can do to convince Mr BRS. It is difficult to cook stuff together in the kitchen. Our kitchen is a shoebox and we literally trip over each other.

The benefit of a small kitchen will be having a romantic "close" cooking session
