    Default Thanksgiving '08

For those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving, what are you going to be doing this year? Are there are special holiday traditions that you and your family do?

And for everyone, what are you thankful for, anything in particular this year?

I actually went Grocery shopping today for the ingredients we'll use for our Thanksgiving Dinner. We just have the lunch-dinner meal with immediate relatives and then we watch the Dallas Cowboys play!

We always go to my husband's grandmother's house for Thanksgiving and also it's my hubby's b-day so we will be celebrating that as well.
I am also very very thank for for my family.

Done...I think...Until I find something that catches my eye

It's gonna be a big Thanksgiving this year at home! I can't wait because I am making a ton of cupcakes and cookies! Plus, I just LOOOOOOVE the food we're having: turkey, mashed potatoes, baked beans, candy yams, ect.

We always go over to my parent's house and have a huge traditional meal, then we spend the afternoon watching football.

We'll be going over to Mr BRS's parent's house again this year. I'm not really sure who is all coming, it might just be Mr BRS's immediate family. Nobody ever tells me anything! LOL! I'm not sure what my parents are up to. My dad has to work that day so my mom will probably spend the day alone.

I have no clue what we'll be eating and I really don't know what I'm thankful for. Thankful that this year is almost over?

I am having oral surgery 2 days before Thanksgiving then I can't eat hard food for three weeks and can't chew on the left side of my mouth for 2 months. I am making ham, potatoes, stuffing, and sweet potatoes pudding. I will eat mashed potatoes sweet potatoes and cheesecake pudding. The biggest thing is I can't drink soda for 4-5 days and I am a serios coke Zero drinker...

I am thankful that my dental inurance covers about 50% of the procedure and that I won't miss school. I am thankful for my husband as well

Aw I love everyone's responses, and I'm hoping you get to enjoy some of the yummy food ND. I hope you aren't in too much pain after your surgery.

I will be having 2 Thanksgivings.

I will be celebrating with my parents, sister, brother in law, nephew, and boyfriend, at my house. I think they're doing pork, mashed potatoes, beans, rolls, dressing. I'll be having everything but the pork

Then after that my boyfriend and I will go over to his sister and her husband's house, where his 2 daughters will be there, and my boyfriend's parents. I'm sure they'll have the same thing my parents are having.

I'm also making a lemon cheesecake Yum!

I'm thankful that I have a good job in this crazy economy, that I have a wonderful bf, family, and friends. I'm also thankful that people are getting more concerned about others, the world, and trying to make changes to better the world for everyone.

We are having a dinner with 4 other couples and their kids. We'll have a traditional turkey dinner with a mojito thrown in here and there (courtesy of our friends from El Salvador).

And I am most thankful for my friends and family, my ability to help financially and volunteer at the cat shelter and for those who sacrifice themselves and their lives daily so that we can live in freedom.

Nash, good luck on your surgery

As for me, my plans are usually the same every year. We go to my grandmothers house on my mom's side of the family, where everyone talks about what's gone on in their lives within the last year while they eat turkey (I sit getting stuffed on potatoes and cranberry's while waiting for the cheese cake desert ). Then after that if the weather is nice some will play tennis, go for a walk on the beach, play mahjong, talk some more then everyone will go home. However, i'm not totally sure what I'm doing yet this year. My grandfather on my dad's side of the family is not doing so well and in the hospital so my sisters and my parents are in california.. actually they left 10 min ago. . . if his condition worsens then I'm off to california.
