Default BOOK ABOUT HERMES.....

Hello,
I just started reading a new book called "BRINGING HOME THE BIRKIN" by Michael Tonello.

It is a good book..... details the adventures of a Hermes ebay seller...

This guy was living in Spain and was able to buy from Hermes stores.... and then resell on ebay for more!

I have dealt in Luxury goods for many years and I don't think this is possible now.... especially with the Global Financial Crisis......

Oooh - thanks for the reminder Archie, I'd heard of this one before and had been meaning to hunt it down, it sounds like it would make for quite a good read - now that I've remembered I can add it to my 'books to buy' list!

I have this book too, and I'm in the middle of reading it right now! It's definitely a good read; it's interesting to read about his "system" for being able to purchase birkins/kellys at just about every single hermes store he visited.

I would love to get this book too... Hermes is just next to my DH's work so everytime I pick him up I get a peek inside the wonderland... But Hermes is Hermes and I just simply can't afford it... Maybe when I'm 50 and rich. LOL...

If the Tonello guy is reading this thread... Good on you mate! You've done well!!!

I finished the book a while ago, and I remember at the end of the book the author says that he has retired from selling Birkins. I'm kind of curious as to whether his method of getting the bags still works, though? It seems very simple and makes sense.
