Reusable Shopper: Hermes Silky Pop Handbag

Reusable Shopper: Hermes Silky Pop Handbag
We have an update on the Hermes Silky Pop Totes I mentioned a while back… the bags are finally available at Hermes boutiques all over the world and at hermes.com!
The newbie is made of hand-wrought silk decorated with beautiful Hermes signature prints. When not in use it easily folds up and collapses into a wallet-size calfskin pouch. To be honest when I first heard about this new addition to the House I wasn’t that excited. I guess I pictured some plain canvas shopper tote. But after seeing the gorgeous elaborate prints (much like the scarves) I was left in awe.
A spokesman for the designer house of Hermes said that the “Silky Pop Hermes bag is an upscale option to the extra fold-up shopping bag that many European women already carry in their purses.” And that this is the ideal tote if “Say you’re out walking. You decide to pick up a few apples, you pull out your bag. (But she quickly added) Though obviously, Hermes clients usually aren’t shopping for their own groceries.”

Price: $943

Re: Reusable Shopper: Hermes Silky Pop Handbag
I ordered one a when it first came out, and as beautiful and surprisingly strong as it was, I ended up returning it. It was just too narrow to hold much more than a book and maybe a water bottle (god forbid that leaked and caused the silk to run or stain). It also didnt sit very comfortably on your shoulder, although it folded up quite nicely and fit into a purse or pocket. Perfect for carrying around paperwork. Beautiful nonetheless. I may order it again just to have in case I buy an apple and loaf of bread lol!

Re: Reusable Shopper: Hermes Silky Pop Handbag
Im not throwing a package of ground beef or a bottle of soda in a $950 grocery bag. You have got to be kidding me! I can get 100 of the green ones from Shoprite for that price!
Id like them more if they got the bandwagon like a lot of other designers and kept selling luxury bags while selling a cheap grocery bag.

Exactly, my boyfriends first thought when I showed him was "Who carries a silk bag to the store? It would be all sliding around! It would be a nice print on canvas."

Stunning design and colors, but i would not pay that much for a grocery bag.
